Thanks for your collaboration. Are you sure that kicker doesn't crash

Didn't seem so. ps -ef still showed it running and a new kicker refused
to start until the previous one got killed.

[Bug 120938] Re: kicker does not show up anymore

2007-06-26 Thread gga
Version is an Edgy upgraded to Feisty. Problem showed up after the
upgrade only.

I've attached the non-corrupt kickerrc file. I'll post the corrupt
kicker file if it happens again (I don't have it anymore right now).

Some of the things I noticed when I diffed them...

A lot of additional stuff had been added at the beginning of the file.
Xinerama was set to -1.

[Bug 121083] Re: emacs-snapshot-gtk fails with missing setColors

2007-06-18 Thread gga
Update.

It is a weird issue. I've gone to my preferences, changed the GTK engine and
it works.
I then went back to the older engine, and it also works.

However, I still get some weird symbol errors (!) --- yet it works (!?).

/home/ $ /usr/bin/emacs
/usr/lib/kde3/plugins/styles/keramik.so: undefined symbol: _ZN7QGCache5clearEv
/usr/lib/kde3/plugins/styles/light.so could not be unloaded

undefined symbol: _ZN18QMetaObjectCleanUpD1Ev

I was previously using the default B3/KDE style. Changed to Plastic,
Keramik and then reverted back to B3/KDE.

Sorry, when I wrote 'shmrm', I was actually thinking about 'ipcrm'.
It's in the util-linux package, which is installed by default.

Cool. I can confirm that the workaround works also for me. I had to do:
 ipcrm -M 5678293 -S 5678293

[Bug 85157] Re: alsa suddenly stopped working (dmix socket disappeared)

2007-03-05 Thread gga
I am also suffering from this problem ( Kubuntu Edgy ).
At first glance, it does indeed seem related to an application exiting
incorrectly (ie. crashing).

Using a different also application, I get:

 grep shmget /tmp/out

shmget(5678293, 384, IPC_CREAT|0660)= 134873127
shmget(IPC_PRIVATE, 21760, IPC_CREAT|0777) = 1487996561

I don't have access to shmrm, thou, to test if that also fixes it in my
case. What package is that command part of?
