[Bug 1876704] Re: 20.04 usb printing problem HP Envy 5640

2020-05-04 Thread gja
Found a solution on German forum:
https://forum.ubuntuusers.de/topic/h...oblem-unter/4/

Apparently ippusbxd causes problems and can simply be removed to make
the printer work again.

I used:
sudo apt purge ippusbxd

2020-05-04 Thread gja
Public bug reported:

[Bug 1163492] Re: mouse speed too fast at lowest level

2013-05-17 Thread gja
** Description changed:

  Ubuntu 12.04 LTS:
I just switched mouses and my new mouse is too fast even at minimum speed in
the settings menu.

  old mouse: Dell mouse m-uvdel1
new mouse: Logitech mouse m-u0026 (from a Logitech MK120 mouse-keyboard set)

The new mouse is significantly faster at the lowest Ubuntu mouse speed
setting.
I can make it more usable by playing around with the xset command, but this
is not permanent.

When searching online for solutions, xset commands are mentioned and
modifying Xorg config files.
Is this fixed in later Ubuntu versions?

[Bug 1163492] Re: mouse speed too fast at lowest level

2013-04-05 Thread gja
UnreportableReason: Please work this issue through technical support
channels first.

I have been looking through the support channels and all I could dig up
was:

http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1457356
http://superuser.com/questions/10200/how-to-set-the-mouse-speed-very-low-on-ubuntu
http://askubuntu.com/questions/134323/cant-slow-down-the-pointer-speed-enough

So there are definitely others who experience this problem.

[Bug 74724] Re: O2Micro Smartcard reader doesn't work, but the driver is available

2010-06-03 Thread gja
Am trying this on 10.04 with a Dell D600.
Last year it worked in 9.04 (or was 8.10).
This year I can't get it to work.

pcsc-lite won't compile anymore.
Any clues on the needed pcsc-lite version?

When opening Yahoo mail in Epiphany, it forces the classic view.

It Just Works.
Firefox Does Not.

Something needs fixing.

Since this week my Yahoo messages won't open.
Error message: We're sorry, but there appears to be a problem loading the
message name of msg here. Click here to try again

Sometimes after a retry the message will open but I am not able to post a
reply.
Yahoo Mail then quits the session and asks me to login again.
Error message: Sorry, your session has expired. Sign in again

Apparently Hotmail is affected too.

Annoying:
- an update to 3.6 is not possible from 3.5 ?
