confirmed, applications are all called 'button' in dash search.
also, going into 'more apps' orca does not read back anything, except for the
expanded categories on the right.

[Bug 737380] Re: Dash: First item should be selected by default

2011-09-15 Thread gnomitsu
i like it as is.. search item, gimme list. i pick.
example: i open dash, type "sys", a few related apps show up. then i pick
whichever it is i want.
i don't see anything wrong with that flow even if the first app [left to right]
is the one i want to pick.
in the case of jeremy above, i'd just add the app in question to the launcher
panel. open app, open file with app.
or, put the file directly on desktop [or symlink to it]. double-click and done.
even faster that way.

[Bug 761155] Re: [launcher] Workspace Switcher icon cannot be moved

2011-09-15 Thread gnomitsu
all icons for apps [spawned or 'kept in launcher'] seem to place themselves
above workspace switcher icon. trash remains at its usual place [bottom]. looks
alright to me. guess this one IS fixed.
however, i do like the idea of having workspace switcher in fixed position
above trash icon.

[Bug 842466] Re: Dash loses focus after switching windows or desktops

2011-09-11 Thread gnomitsu
"What I expect to see:
To be honest, I was surprised that Alt-Tab or desktop switching keybindings
worked while the Dash was open. I guess that's not so much a big deal. Either
way, I expect the Dash to keep focus while it's on top of everything."

first off, dash does keep focus while it's open and correctly disengages when
an app takes the focus [by user input].
second, i don't quite see the practical sense in having the dash open WHILE
switching workspaces. those are two different functions alright.
furthermore, such thing would probably only work with compositing enabled
[unity3D] if at all. and we already past feature freeze anyway.
it is my opinion this should be under WISHLIST and not as a bug.
