[Bug 1447944] Re: Migration of custom configuration to my.cnf.migrated is not explicit enough

2016-08-08 Thread gonssal
So I just had the terrible to idea to try and switch from mysql to
mariadb (drop-in replacement, yeah sure...) and hit this bug.

After a couple of hours trying different things, I went back to mysql
5.7 and used the solution in #29. I think we should stop calling mariadb
a drop-in replacement, at least in the state its ubuntu's packaging is.

Also during the upgrade process, the system told me existing databases
could not be migrated and they were being copied somewhere else.

Probably the worst user experience I've had with ubuntu in years.

[Bug 1548273] Re: Periodic crashes

2016-03-02 Thread gonssal
I can't, because I'm not 100% sure. I don't write down the exact date
everytime my system crashes.

You can wait for the next crash if you want, but it hasn't happened for
the last 3 work-days. If it happens again, I'll notice the time and
check /var/crash.

Doesn't seem like it.

I only have two kontact-related files and one apache-related file in
there.

[Bug 500069] Re: USB file transfer causes system freezes; ops take hours instead of minutes

2013-04-27 Thread gonssal
This 'bug' is fixed running modprobe ehci_hcd (as root) in my 13.04.
Been having the issue since 08.04 maybe, only now I _needed_ to fix it.

So maybe load that module by default and mark this as fixed?

[Bug 360724] Re: [RV515] Kubuntu: Corrupted mouse cursor after moving between screens

2013-04-07 Thread gonssal
Kubuntu 12.10 with KDE 4.10.2 here. Radeon HD 3870 with fgrlx-legacy.
This has been happening to me since I got a dual screen setup, when I
had KDE 4.7.4 and standard fglrx driver.

[Bug 857828] Re: kontact migration to 11.10 fails

2012-04-26 Thread gonssal
Just incredible that is isn't fixed with a new LTS release.

My company just decided to stop using KDE due to bosses finding it
unacceptable that people loses emails and configurations due to just a
update. Back to windows.

[Bug 857828] Re: kontact migration to 11.10 fails

2011-12-13 Thread gonssal
Is there an ETA for the migration script to work properly? Is it
currently planned to fix it or just not in the agenda?

I have arround 200 Kubuntu 11.04 installations in a corporate
environment and its just not acceptable to ask all users to backup and
import all their PIM data manually, so I've disabled update-notifier for
the moment.

Thank you.

[Bug 730264] Re: [LibreOffice] - Use of KIO SLAVES instead of CIFS to access remote files (located in the Network)

2011-10-17 Thread gonssal
I'd like to extend this bug report with another related issue. I'm using
KDE 4.6.5, Kubuntu 11.04.

When I try to access a remote file from a protocol and server that
requires authentication (i.e. FTP, sFTP...), a window pops up asking for
username and password, but the username field is disabled and you can't
modify it. It will let you modify the password field, but the username
is disabled and it says anonymous.

system breaking and it leaves it unusable.

Disrregard upstart or something, this is not acceptable in a production
system.

[Bug 156287] Re: Kubuntu freezes when logging in with kio_slaves requiring authentication running

2007-11-26 Thread gonssal
Update: It seems that's an issue with Kwallet. I just reinstalled a new
Kubuntu (7.10) from scratch and it's happening again with Kopete. When
Kopete loads, the Kwallet authorisation window never appears and Kopete
never connects. I have to make it reconnect to get the authorisation
window appear. Could it be related with the apps loading order? Kopete
loads before Kwallet so it fails.

[Bug 156287] Kubuntu freezes when logging in with kio_slaves requiring authentication running

2007-10-23 Thread gonssal
Public bug reported:

I logged out with Konqueror, Quanta and Krita running, all of them using
the ftp kio_slave and with remote files opened (Konqueror an HTML page,
Quanta some CSS and HTML files and Krita some images).

When I logged back in and those applications started, they all freezed
and I could do nothing with them (I was able to do other things though,
but their windows stayed freezed until I killed them). I think this is
due to the applications asking for authentication to reach the ftp
server and open the files, but the login/password window not appearing.
It wasn't neither in the taskbar nor accessible through the ALT+TAB
loop.
