[Bug 554149] Re: dependency problem breaks upgrade to lucid beta1

2010-04-06 Thread greg_g
Uninstaling or dpkg-ing during upgrade is not a good solution. Of course
it worked for you guys, worked for me, but I don't think it will work
for common user out there (I have 10 years of Linux user experience) -
people don't expect this kind of problems on stable distro (IMHO).
Especially if upgrading after release ends with several 'dpkg --pending
--configure'...

[Bug 121598] Negative amount of unread items

2007-06-21 Thread greg_g
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: liferea

Added a new feed ( http://planet.bazaar-vcs.org/rss20.xml ), selected
liferea-add-feed as the program to use (in FireFox).

After I chose that and hit subscribe now I decided I wanted to always
use liferea-add-feed, so I checked that box and hit subscribe now just
to make sure it remembers. The point of that sentence is to say I
added a feed twice by accident.

I then deleted the second planet.bazaar feed (which had 20 new items in
it) and now my unread items number is what-it-should-be minus 20. So
right now with 0 unread items it is -20

For your enjoyment I will attach a screenshot.

It is fixed after a restart of liferea. (Actual restart, quit the open
version so it is out of the sys-tray)

Now a show stopper by any means, just, weird.

[Bug 81128] Re: liferea incorrectly reports number of unread messages

2007-06-21 Thread greg_g
I just reported a bug for the negative unread items issue:

https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/liferea/+bug/121598

I saw this bug but didn't see Martin's comment about the negative feeds,
plus it might be nice to have a separate bug report just for the
negative issue. Especially since Emilio said the original problem is
fixed in 1.2.9.

I thought this section of launchpad called liferea (ubuntu) is for the
version that ubuntu repositories provides? So I am using the latest
version supported by Ubuntu.

But, it looks like Ubuntu just needs to use a later version.

[Sorry for late response, I am in the process of moving to a different

The crash is not reproducible by force, from what I can do right now. I
will be able to do more this weekend. I will try timing how long it
takes from boot-up to experience this problem next boot-up (problem
install is not plugged-in yet). I will also keep track of what programs
I opened/are open before the problem appears.

Should I link to the other reports from here and vice versa since they
seem to be related?

[Bug 120131] VLC and gnome apps seg fault in KDE

2007-06-12 Thread greg_g
Public bug reported:

I am running Kubuntu Fiesty (on top of an Ubuntu install).

I also added the Kubuntu KDE 3.5.7 repo recently, upgraded. Now I
removed the repo but I don't believe the apps have downgraded.

When in KDE and my uptime for the computer is over about a day I start
to get seg faults (with core dumps) when trying to start VLC, Firefox,
and some gnome apps (I think all the ones I try to load).

The only error message given when these apps are in run in the Konsole
