[Bug 1564666] Re: Launcher covers non-focused fullscreen window

2017-02-16 Thread groucho
For me, nothing is wrong at the beginning of a new session, but the bug appears
after I have achieved a drag and drop action (in nautilus or firefox) and stays
until I restart the session.
If I don't do any drag and drop action, the launcher doesn't seem to show over
fullscreen apps.

I also can confirm that enabling workspaces fixes the issue on my
computer (laptop with an external monitor).

I am also using VGA and don't have any detection problems.

I don't know if I have the same issue as OP though.

Here is a picture of my issue (attachment).

[Bug 1634220] Re: Wallpaper does not resize correctly when adding external display

2016-10-17 Thread groucho
I think I have the same bug with Ubuntu 16.10.
16.04 was fine.

Additionally, setting a new wallpaper is a bit slow. The new wallpaper
appears after a delay of 2 seconds without any special effect (no fading
in/out).

Graphics card : Intel HD graphics.

Hi, the bug hasn't been fixed in kernel v4.4.0-36-generic.

[Bug 1420766] Re: USB Wifi drops out every 2 minutes, needs disconnecting / reconnecting to work for a further 2 minutes

2016-07-14 Thread groucho
NetworkManager does a scan every 2 minutes.
It can lead to latency issues, lost packets or disconnections.

To disable it, you can set the BSSID in your WIFI access point profile
(in the network settings).

Maybe this will fix your issue.

[Bug 748539] Re: Multi-monitor - Panel and launcher visible on top of multimonitor non-focused fullscreen apps

2016-05-03 Thread groucho
The fix works for me at first, but the problem come back after a while.

Here is a case scenario :
- New session, I open a full screen app on one screen and nautilus on the other
one (everything is fine)
- I drag a folder or a file in nautilus
- The problem comes back and I have to restart the session to get rid of it,
otherwise it will not go away

[Bug 1553503] Re: multi monitors - black flashes or black screen when the mouse cursor leaves a monitor

2016-03-10 Thread groucho
Thank you for your guidance.
Here is the result of the reverse bisect :

commit e2e407dc093f530b771ee8bf8fe1be41e3cea8b3
Author: Matt Roper

drm/i915: Pretend cursor is always on for ILK-style WM calculations (v2)

Due to our lack of two-step watermark programming, our driver has
historically pretended that the cursor plane is always on for the
purpose of watermark calculations; this helps avoid serious flickering
when the cursor turns off/on (e.g., when the user moves the mouse
pointer to a different screen). That workaround was accidentally
dropped as we started working toward atomic watermark updates. Since we
still aren't quite there yet with two-stage updates, we need to
resurrect the workaround and treat the cursor as always active.

v2: Tweak cursor width calculations slightly to more closely match the
logic we used before the atomic overhaul began. (Ville)

[Bug 1553503] [NEW] multi monitor - black flashes and black screen

2016-03-05 Thread groucho
Public bug reported:

When the mouse cursor leaves one of the screens, there is either :
- no problem
- the screen becomes black just below the position of the cursor and instantly
comes back to normal.
- the screen becomes entirely black with some random colored pixels flickering
on the far left of the screen. I have to move the cursor to the black screen,
otherwise it stays black.

It happens on Ubuntu Gnome 16.04 Beta and Ubuntu Mate 16.04 Beta.
I have tested with other distributions (Debian Jessie and Fedora) and
everything is fine.

Hardware : Intel Ironlake (Thinkpad X201) with an external monitor
plugged in.

[Bug 311056] Re: every time i go to gmail it runs slow and this warning pops up inresonpsive script then there is this box on it saying contune or stop. Plaese help

2009-04-30 Thread groucho
Hi,

I have this issue too. Mi gmail profesional and personal are working
really slow. Just to access to my gmail tab, I have to wait 2 seconds
(for the others tabs, it is instantaneous).

In my case, this is not a slow conection problem, As we have at work a
high speed conection. And I have the same running Firefox in safe-mode.

Please tell me the information you need.

Thanks for your support.

2009-04-30 Thread groucho
Seems I do not have the problem anymore. and I am not sure to
understand why.

What I have done is deactivate the 3 lab features I had activated in
gmail, and I can see now that it is working perfectly. The strange thing
is I just reactivate these same lab features, but I am unable to
reproduce the issue and all is working perfectly.

Thanksfor the time you spend Bernhard. If I can reproduce the issue, I
will inform you.

2009-04-30 Thread groucho
Yes, but I have other issue (sorry to not have descibed it before) :
Just the fact to do a scroll up or down to see for exemple mails at the
end of the page, it is really, really really slow and Firefox goes
black during some seconds as It will crash (but it come back normal)

I identify all of theses behaviours as a bug/problem as my colleagues do
not have this problem of with Ubuntu9.04/Firefox3.0.10 too

Regards.

2009-04-30 Thread groucho
With Opera, gmail works perfectly, really fast and reactiv (scrolling
up/down without problem, and change to the gmail tab too).

I have a GeForce 6200 which is not a really powerfull graphic card but I
think that's largely enough to not have this type of problem with
Firefox. For exemple, if I go here http://www.20minutes.fr/;, a web
page plenty of images and really long, I can scroll from to the end of
the web page without any problem, unlike with gmail.

[Bug 311056] Re: every time i go to gmail it runs slow and this warning pops up inresonpsive script then there is this box on it saying contune or stop. Plaese help

2009-04-30 Thread groucho
I just understand everything! I can reproduce the issue by using the chat
gmail. That's pretty simple, if I use gmail all is working fine. But if I want
to use the chat, just the action to click on a contact and open the little chat
box (no need to speak)
, or even if somebody want to chat with me, that's make my gmail account
unusable (as describe before, the scroll up/down becomes really, really really
slow and Firefox goes black during some seconds as it could not handle this
effort)

So the only one solution I have found for the moment is to desactivate
the chat, which is not really a solution...

Please help, as the gmail chat (we have a profesional account) is a
necesary tool at work.

Regards.

Sure. Using TB 1.5.0.10 on Ubuntu 6.10.

If I run from the console I get Segmentation fault (core dumped)

It'll take a while to get to the rest of your suggestion, but I will!

What version of ubuntu are you using?
If you follow the instructions at
 https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingProgramCrash and add a thunderbird
dbgsym, then can you reproduce it and get debug information for this crash?
Also try starting thunderbird from a console, and see what output you get,
as that may reveal information about the problem too.
