[Bug 1068315] Re: Cannot suspend

2012-10-23 Thread haight6716
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 1064354 ***
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1064354

Is this really a duplicate? I am indeed running gnome and lightdm
(stock ubuntu 12.10). I can lock my screen. I can unlock my screen.
gnome-screensaver is running.

But I cannot suspend. Until I installed the alternate status menu
extension I didn't even see a suspend option. Now when I click suspend
my screen goes to a text mode, complete with blinking cursor, the music
stops and then after a few seconds, it comes right back up.

Suspend under unity works fine.

Anyway, duplicate or not, it's still affecting me. Looking forward to a
fix thanks for all the hard work!

[Bug 995840] Re: When laptop lid is closed screen locks even if it should not

2012-10-09 Thread haight6716
Echo Jasper's comments exactly. How many times have I seen people
sitting with their laptop lid *almost* closed because they live in
terror of what might happen should they actually close it.

Please please let me close my laptop lid.

I want my screen to lock on inactivity, but *not* on lid close. I
cannot do this with ubuntu 12.04 and it seems like I'll see the same
problem in 12.10. :(

[Bug 241038] Re: Java pages crash firefox when using socks proxy

2010-10-11 Thread haight6716
Thanks Teej. It looks better now (v3.6.10 for ubuntu). Now java is
giving me a stack overflow in the console - but I think we can say it's
no longer a firefox issue.

[Bug 241038] Re: Java pages crash firefox when using socks proxy

2009-01-20 Thread haight6716
Yes, I just re-confirmed. The issue still exists.

Firefox 3.0.5.
Java(TM) Plug-in 1.6.0_06-b02

Maybe this version of java has something to do with the problem? I
vaguely recall re-symlinking the java installed to resolve a different
problem.

[Bug 241038] [NEW] Java pages crash firefox when using socks proxy

2008-06-18 Thread haight6716
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: firefox-3.0

Start with a fresh .mozilla, configure a socks proxy (mine is set to
socks4: localhost:1080). Visit a page like
http://www.julianhaight.com/yig3.shtml

When that page loads, mozilla crashes.

I'm using danted as my proxy.

My mozilla:
Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.9) Gecko/2008061015 Firefox/3.0

(I expect mozilla to keep running, regardless of misbehaving
proxies/servers/applets or whatever else).
