I'm also having problems with the KDE desktop(compiz???) crashing and going white. Re your email to me, so far I haven't had anymore crashes after the initial web update to 08.10b from 08.04.1 (KDE Resources needed installing & the grub boot loader needed rewriting, I also upgraded to Python 3) & what Ive already posted. Well what ever it is my system is working quite well now, no crashes on start up, (not showing last good boot in grub though) Still having a little problem with the graphics, empty boxes where the close, minimize and full screen icons should be. If you want any system info let me know & what commands you want running to get it.
