[Bug 1788073] Re: Wifi adapter not found after suspend (iwlwifi)
The problem also affects the "airplane mode". The loss of wifi connectivity can be restored by entering and exiting airplane mode provides the option to reenable the wifi board. [Bug 90896] Network-Manager misbehaving after recient update
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: network-manager After a full 6mo of having network-manager working perfectly, recently it has stopped seeing all SSIDs in range. and seems now to only have visibility of the highest signal strength unprotected network, consistently. (there are 6-8 WIFI routers in my area that until recently were all visible, some protected, some not) disabling network-manager and restarting sometimes allows full visibility, or if i already have full visibility will end full visibility. rebooting the system sometimes allows for full visibility. the symptom has only been present for about a week, a week where there was a few updates. i have no connectivity trouble with windows (dual boot machine) so i am reluctant to dismiss as a hardware trouble. i am running an Asus z71v notebook with ipw2200 network driver (i2915) edgy currently updated, with gnome i have reinstalled all the network manager component with no improvement i have re-modprobed the ipw2200 with no improvement. ps. playing with herd5 live disk, there is some evidence of this odd behavior in feisty... although seems less severe. ** Affects: network-manager (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Unconfirmed -- Network-Manager misbehaving after recient update https://launchpad.net/bugs/90896 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 73275] Re: P-M high idle CPU usage, reported as fixed, persists in edgy
i spoke to ben collins about this (kernel guy), and apparently the i386 kernel in feisty has been upgraded to have uni-processor generic cpu support, thus virtully the same kernel as the default "generic" kernel with an expected performace loss of about 1%. I suspect that this problem will not be chased, and this new i386 has been provided as the solution to such problems. With this problem, seeming being isolated to Asus and Sony PM notebooks, i sure they will just let the problem disappear into obsolecence. [Bug 75510] Re: Feisty wish list: Non-SMP 686 Kernel
There a few cases of penitum M bases machines, sony vaio, asus, and mabe others, that the SMP kernel causes a CPU run-away problem. Idle CPU usage of 40% at idle. The problem was reported in dapper and fixed for a majority of systems, but this problem exists still for a few, bug fixes have been filed to attempt to open this problem, but haven't seemed to have gained any traction. Public bug reported: exactly the same problem with high P-M cpu usage as reported in dapper and marked as fixed in bug #30557; seems persist in edgy with "generic" kernel. problem can be worked around in same manner as previous by adding maxcstate comment in start up script. surveying the ubuntuforums.org, the problem seems to most commonly reported on Asus P-M and Vaio P-M based notebooks. Most reports are for Asus M6a, or Z70 notebooks (same notebook) and Vaio FS. simptoms are same as before, high idle cpu usage, 20-30% with radical fluctuations, adding maxcstate seems correct symptoms, at what performance penalty? ** Affects: linux-source-2.6.15 (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Unconfirmed -- P-M high idle CPU usage, reported as fixed, persists in edgy https://launchpad.net/bugs/73275 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 72932] Feature Request: make "add/remove programs" have visibility of synaptic
Public bug reported: more a suggestion or feature request than a bug... "Add / remove programs" from the GNOME edgy menu does not have visibility of the packages installed through synaptic. if i install "tux kart" through synaptic, add/remove programs does not display as checked or as package being installed.
