[Bug 876198] Re: When switching workspaces with rotate/cube previous Ws contents are momentarily displayed

2012-11-08 Thread hate_bugs_89
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 862430 ***
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/862430

I have this issue. Linux Mint 13, Nvidia Geforce GTX 560 M.
Also, to drag a window with your mouse across the workspaces on the cube is
borked. The window goes mental. It flickers, flies around and ends up on the
previous screen again, even if you try to drag it across.

[Bug 790435] Re: Adjusting brightness is impossible

2011-06-10 Thread hate_bugs_89
Hello, I installed these now. My nVidia drivers broke because of them,
so I'm back to Gnome. Brightness switching is just as troublesome as it
was originally.

Readding acpi_backlight=vendor.
*sudo update-grub*
*reboot*

It isn't exactly fixed, I noticed when the problems occur now, it is
when I adjust the brightness fast and repeatedly. It then goes a bit up
and down, but no more than one step, with acpi etc.

So it behaves the same irregardless of kernels.

I'll attach the attachements anyway:

[Bug 790435] Re: Adjusting brightness is impossible

2011-06-07 Thread hate_bugs_89
Thanks for staying with me, Fabio.

Here is what I have done so far:
- Removed 'acpi_backlight=vendor' from kernel boot parameters, since that fixed
the problem
- *sudo update-grub*
- ls /sys/class/backlight/
dell_backlight
(because of «Checking the kernel interfaces»).
*reboot*

Nothing changed, that is: Brightness is still awkward.

Do you want me to add the line back to boot parameters before trying your
.debs? Should I install them all at the same time?
Thanks,

I just noticed that the two-step, aka useless adjusting does not appear before
I am logged in.
Whilst logging in, I turned the brightness up and down, and then it was
behaving correclty.

I thought it was worth a mention.

[Bug 790435] Re: Adjusting brightness is impossible

2011-06-03 Thread hate_bugs_89
It's 32. Sorry for not adding any additional info. :)

** Description changed:

  (11.04)
This causes big jumps in the brightness adjusting settings on Dell Inspiron
9400 – I've seen other Inspirons having the same problem, too (10.10). As it
says it's impossible to use it because it makes such BIG jumps between 100 %
brightness and down to 50. Most often it jumps two steps at a time.
What's this? A bug that's been around since 10.10 and not been fixed?

About kernels: All kernels within each distributions have acted the
same. The most recent ones in 10.04 have not caused any problems, and
the oldest kernels with 10.10/11.04 creates these problems.

[Bug 790435] Re: Adjusting brightness is impossible

2011-06-01 Thread hate_bugs_89
Hello,
I did the steps adding 'acpi_backlight=vendor' to the kernel boot parameters,
and ran 'sudo update-grub' and restarted.
And actually, it works to quite some extent. The problem is not entirely gone,
but it is MUCH better. Thanks for the link.
I don't know what I'm supposed to do on the next steps, it was very confusing.
As you now may know, I am a complete GNU/Linux newbie. :)

[Bug 207473] Re: Screen brightness double level changes on Dell laptops

2010-03-07 Thread hate_bugs_89
Okay, so... where is the fix?
I'm a complete Linux newbie, but I'm raging right now because everything is so
fricking hard to find out about. Yes, I am smashing my head and my fists
against a brick wall right now. :)

I should have just downgraded to 7.10 right now, but then I wouldn't be
able to activate my graphics card drivers, because they stop supporting
the current Linux distrubation after two days.
