Then I install usb-modeswitch from universe repository, and look into /etc/usb_modeswitch.conf. There was no DefaultProduct= 0x1446 string. I am not sure I can upgrade checkbox - I use live usb image downloaded 2 days ago. I see for $http_proxy, and it was set in ubuntu user profile, when I check it in terminal session. But I run checkbox from gnome menu, and I don't know, was it run from ubuntu user, or from root. when I made sudo su -, and check for http_proxy, I found, this var lost login and password. I can download new image and perform check for checkbox version at monday, if it can be intersting for you. Oh, I forget to add: when I write this topic starter message, I have checkbox trys to connect; and I look into netstat -anp, and see checkbox try to connect to the world ip address, not to my proxy ip. Now I update image, and check again, on another computer. Now I see, that version of checkbox 0.7, and no updates proposed by synaptic or update manager. About the proxy: now I see checkbox runs from the root account; and I can confirm: if proxy wants login and password, and it set via Network Proxy application in the System Preferences menu, root have proxy and port, but have no login and password. now I run checkbox in network without the proxy server, but with direct internet connection, and set proxy. Why I should do it manually? Why there no button open this url in browser, or, at least, copy url to clipboard button? Then I see a page with 11 fields. 4 can be reasonable, as I think, but other can't for user. How can I (user) know about unique submission key? How can I know, what do you wait in distribution and distribution release? What is system name, in context of test-purpose-only-live-image? my hostname? my pc brand? ubuntu release name? And why you need it in statistical hardware compatibility base? 2. All you need data should be inside report file I submit. Don't ask me data you don't need, or obtainable from report file. I download image rsync://cdimage.ubuntu.com/cdimage/ubuntu-netbook-remix /daily-live/current/jaunty-netbook-remix-i386.img , wrote it to usb flash, and boot my eeepc901 from that flash. It loads and work (I can browse internet with my wifi, made photo with build-in webcam, and so on). Then I want to enter pc into hybernation (power-save mode when data from ram writes to hdd, and power swichws off completely). my eeepc have 1GB ram, and live-image found and use my 2 GB swap file. I go into preferences - powermanagement - on battery power, and try to choose action when lid is closed, and pull-down list contain nothing, blank screen, suspend and shutdown. No hybernation. When I choose quit button on right pane of ubuntu netbook desktop, and see that only 3 of shutdown options - sutdown, restart and suspend, no hybernation. This windows xp computer ask for username, and no password. When I click on computer icon, password required windows appears. There I should enter login, domain and password. But connect button disabled until domain and password fields empty. Domain field can be empty, if there no domain; it's a common case for a home network. In my case both domain and password fields should be empty to connect to windows share, but it's impossible - connect button disabled.
