[Bug 1431743] Re: fails to boot with broken or missing root fs fstab entry
I agree with ironstorm. This bug clearly needs to be reopened. I just upgraded my server and it became read only. I can confirm that the problem for me was that after upgrade the fstab had the wrong UUID in it. Bizarrely, it was changed from: UUID=18254707-08e8-494e-b456-938592928a5e / ext4 errors=remount-ro 0 1 to: UUID=815063a9-c956-44a6-ab11-05e1d0bb3a58 / ext4 errors=remount-ro 0 1 The server was virtual and luckily I took a backup before upgrading. I therefore restored the backup, upgraded again and then dropped into the command prompt and corrected the fstab before rebooting the server. As Ironstorm suggests, this should be a post install check or perhaps the bug which is causing this issue can be resolved. I'm sure that this issue will affect lots of other people and it should be reopened as an issue. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1431743 Title: fails to boot with broken or missing root fs fstab entry To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/systemd/+bug/1431743/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1232530] [NEW] Can't unlock encrypted filesystem on Macbook Pro because keyboard doesn't work on Kernel 3.11
Public bug reported: I've upgrade from Ubuntu 13.04 -> 13.10 Final Beta. I am using a Macbook 5,1. The disk is completely encrypted. Therefore, I can't enter a password and hence cannot boot the laptop. There is also something odd on the screen. Public bug reported: Binary package hint: ubuntu-live Hi, On old computers, the live cd installation can fail due to insufficient memory (i.e. less than 500mb). This information isn't provided to user, who are often confronted with an installation which stalls/freezes/takes a very very long time for no apparent reason. Frequently people check the cd for errors, change their cd roms etc... before they can't work out what is happening. Ubuntu live should check the amount of available memory before attempting installation and provide a warning or use the swap file if the memory is too low. Fedora Core and others do this before installation Thanks, James ** Affects: ubuntu-meta (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Unconfirmed -- live cd - fails to install when memory low https://launchpad.net/bugs/82385 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 77217] gnome menu refresh slow
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gnome-menus Hi, This might be not be in the right place... The gnome-menus ( i.e. Application, Places and Systems) get updated with a link to the new software, after I have installed some software using the package manager. The link is created okay but the menus take time to return adjust to the new item. Before adjusting correctly, they always have a scroll button at the top and bottom. Once I have opened each sub menu at least once then they go back to normal. I am using edgy, on an AMD64 laptop. The only weird thing that I have done is rearrange the menu bar so that it is at the bottom of the screen like KDE / Windows and this could be the cause of the problem. Let me know if you need anymore information, Thanks, James ** Affects: gnome-menus (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Unconfirmed -- gnome menu refresh slow https://launchpad.net/bugs/77217 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 77373] Small warning on loading xara
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: xaralx Hi, Installed Xara Xtreme from synaptic. It appears to be working okay however when it loads it gives the warning: "Mailcap file /etc/mailcap, line 89: incomplete entry ignored." This is probably not very important but all the same, just thought I would let you know, Cheerio, James ** Affects: xaralx (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Unconfirmed -- Small warning on loading xara https://launchpad.net/bugs/77373 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 76453] firefox freezes with complex javascript (edgy)
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: mozilla-firefox Hi, I am using Edgy on a AMD 64 bit. I have installed both Firefox32 bit and also Firefox 64 using the synaptic. Firefox 2 freezes when I am viewing websites with lots of javascipt menus such as http://www.royalcanin.com/accueil/gb_sommaire.asp ( which has a javascript menu on the right hand side). It freezes you can't open a new window or tab, you can't reload the page, you can move to another page - but you can resize the window and access the menu bar and buttons. If you would like more information let me know, James p.s. This might be related to the currently unfixed but with Java that cause Eclipse to crash before loading. ** Affects: firefox (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Unconfirmed -- firefox freezes with complex javascript (edgy) https://launchpad.net/bugs/76453 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
