[Bug 1106954] [NEW] Package Owners should have ability to contact authors of comments
Public bug reported: Some comment authors incorrectly state problems with packages or have other issues that may be easily addressed, but they do not use support resources and leave negative comments instead. Package owners should have ability to contact them privately to address issues and provided better customer service (especially for paid apps). This would hopefully lead to comment edits that would improve software usage/sales. I tried a work around posted on askubuntu (http://askubuntu.com/questions/247531/can-i-respond-to-comments-in- software-center-as-app-developer/247679#247679), however I get no results back for my package. I don't know if the api changed or something. ** Affects: software-center (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1106954 Title: Package Owners should have ability to contact authors of comments To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/software-center/+bug/1106954/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Re: [Bug 940603] Re: white box randomly shows up at top left corner blocking applications from using stuff under it
I haven't had the issue occur since I changed one setting in ccsm animations plugin: Focus Animation>Focus Effect>None. Previously it was N/A which seemed very strange to me so I changed it. [Bug 948107] [NEW] Maximize window on multi-monitor display puts it on the wrong monitor
Public bug reported: When a dual-monitor display with different resolutions are used, if a large window is moved from the large display to the small display (completely) and then maximized, it is maximized in the large display rather than the smaller monitor. This doesn't happen if the size of the window is smaller than the width dimension of the monitor (height doesn't matter). It occurs when pressing the maximize button, dragging the title bar to the panel, or double clicking the title bar. Placing the window on half the screen by dragging to the edge works fine and then it can be maximized to the full monitor. [Bug 930148] Re: Dodge windows is down but what about making the launcher autohide only on maximised apps ?
I 100% agree... I can't stand the new algorithm for the auto-hide since it relies on moving the mouse past the edge to activate. I have tried turning up the sensitivity, but still have to hit the side more than once! I want my dodge windows/intellihide back! So far every other part of the new unity at 12.04 experience I love. [Bug 938758] Re: AutoHidden launcher reveal sensitivity adjustment should allow disabling push-past for wacom tablets
I'm on a laptop and can't stand this feature! I have to move my mouse against the edge several times sometimes if the algorithm thinks I didn't hit it hard enough. That's with the sensitivity turned all the way up! Bad enough you took away dodge windows functionality. I'm testing it now (3.1-rc10)... so far so good but I want to keep testing it for a couple of days since it sometimes seemed a little random. Also, turns out my grub wasn't updating properly before and I never realized I wasn't running an up-to-date kernel (2.6.38-8.42) so this may have been fixed in a v3.0 kernel . [Bug 717843] Re: python2.7 & python imaging (PIL) dumps core with buffer overflow
I have this issue too with some custom scripts that reads the intensity data from a grayscale TIF image of the output of a CCD detector (7_WAXS) and then radially averages. Occurs with python2.6 as well. Another TIF image from a different type of detector works, but I'm not really sure of the difference in files. One may have 32bit samples (the one that works, 7_SAXS) as imagemagick gives an error (it's also smaller ~400x600 vs 1042x1042). The output of file gives: 7_SAXS: TIFF image data, little-endian 7_WAXS: TIFF image data, big-endian I'm attaching the two images, and here's the output of the core dump: Python 2.7.1+ (r271:86832, Mar 24 2011, 00:37:39) [GCC 4.5.2] on linux2 Type "help", "copyright", "credits" or "license" for more information. >>> from exp_setup import * >>> dsamp.avg("78_1p7mg-3.90s",es,ew,msaxs,mwaxs,plot_data=False,save_ave=True) processing 7 ... dezinger ... *** buffer overflow detected ***: python terminated === Backtrace: = /lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libc.so.6(__fortify_fail+0x37)[0x7fd30ace51d7] /lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libc.so.6(+0xfd0f0)[0x7fd30ace40f0] /usr/lib/python2.7/dist-packages/PIL/_imaging.so(ImagingNewPrologueSubtype+0x97)[0x7fd30732e1e7] /usr/lib/python2.7/dist-packages/PIL/_imaging.so(PyImaging_MapBuffer+0xd1)[0x7fd307314751] python(PyEval_EvalFrameEx+0x361)[0x496631] python(PyEval_EvalFrameEx+0xb2f)[0x496dff] python(PyEval_EvalCodeEx+0x145)[0x49d375] python(PyEval_EvalFrameEx+0x802)[0x496ad2] python(PyEval_EvalCodeEx+0x145)[0x49d375] python[0x4c45a6] python(PyObject_Call+0x44)[0x45d854] python[0x45f47f] python(PyObject_Call+0x44)[0x45d854] python(PyEval_CallObjectWithKeywords+0x36)[0x495d86] python(PyInstance_New+0x78)[0x460658] python(PyObject_Call+0x44)[0x45d854] python(PyEval_EvalFrameEx+0x9be)[0x496c8e] python(PyEval_EvalCodeEx+0x145)[0x49d375] python(PyEval_EvalFrameEx+0x802)[0x496ad2] python(PyEval_EvalCodeEx+0x145)[0x49d375] python(PyEval_EvalCode+0x32)[0x4ecbc2] python[0x4fdd34] python(PyRun_InteractiveOneFlags+0x1e2)[0x42cd9e] python(PyRun_InteractiveLoopFlags+0xc0)[0x42cebd] python(PyRun_AnyFileExFlags+0x39)[0x42d2e1] python(Py_Main+0xac9)[0x418c9e] /lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libc.so.6(__libc_start_main+0xff)[0x7fd30ac05eff] python[0x4c6305] === Memory map: 0040-0062f000 r-xp 08:01 2560 /usr/bin/python2.7 0082e000-0082f000 r--p 0022e000 08:01 2560 /usr/bin/python2.7 0082f000-00897000 rw-p 0022f000 08:01 2560 /usr/bin/python2.7 00897000-008a9000 rw-p 00:00 0 025ce000-03c3c000 rw-p 00:00 0 [heap] 7fd302167000-7fd30237a000 rw-s 08:01 659009 /home/ian/Documents/Modislab/saxs/bnl111010/7_WAXS 7fd30237a000-7fd30237f000 r-xp 08:01 953977 /usr/lib/python2.7/lib-dynload/mmap.so 7fd30237f000-7fd30257e000 ---p 5000 08:01 953977 /usr/lib/python2.7/lib-dynload/mmap.so 7fd30257e000-7fd30257f000 r--p 4000 08:01 953977 /usr/lib/python2.7/lib-dynload/mmap.so 7fd30257f000-7fd30258 rw-p 5000 08:01 953977 /usr/lib/python2.7/lib-dynload/mmap.so 7fd30258-7fd3027ce000 rw-p 00:00 0 7fd3027ce000-7fd3027db000 r-xp 08:01 3456034 /home/ian/bin/pyXS/_RQconv.so 7fd3027db000-7fd3029db000 ---p d000 08:01 3456034 /home/ian/bin/pyXS/_RQconv.so 7fd3029db000-7fd3029dc000 r--p d000 08:01 3456034 /home/ian/bin/pyXS/_RQconv.so 7fd3029dc000-7fd3029dd000 rw-p e000 08:01 3456034 /home/ian/bin/pyXS/_RQconv.so 7fd3029dd000-7fd3029de000 rw-p 00:00 0 7fd3029de000-7fd302a45000 r-xp 08:01 963596 /usr/lib/pyshared/python2.7/matplotlib/backends/_backend_agg.so 7fd302a45000-7fd302c45000 ---p 00067000 08:01 963596 /usr/lib/pyshared/python2.7/matplotlib/backends/_backend_agg.so 7fd302c45000-7fd302c47000 r--p 00067000 08:01 963596 /usr/lib/pyshared/python2.7/matplotlib/backends/_backend_agg.so 7fd302c47000-7fd302c48000 rw-p 00069000 08:01 963596 /usr/lib/pyshared/python2.7/matplotlib/backends/_backend_agg.so 7fd302c48000-7fd302c65000 r-xp 08:01 963597 /usr/lib/pyshared/python2.7/matplotlib/backends/_tkagg.so 7fd302c65000-7fd302e64000 ---p 0001d000 08:01 963597 /usr/lib/pyshared/python2.7/matplotlib/backends/_tkagg.so 7fd302e64000-7fd302e66000 r--p 0001c000 08:01 963597 /usr/lib/pyshared/python2.7/matplotlib/backends/_tkagg.so 7fd302e66000-7fd302e67000 rw-p 0001e000 08:01 963597 /usr/lib/pyshared/python2.7/matplotlib/backends/_tkagg.so 7fd302e67000-7fd302e68000 ---p 00:00 0 7fd302e68000-7fd303668000 rw-p 00:00 0 7fd303668000-7fd30366d000 r-xp 08:01 48227

[Bug 429523] Re: bluetooth-wizard will not run - assertion failure
I get slightly different error message about being unable to open a library: $ bluetooth-properties ** (bluetooth-properties:19667): WARNING **: error opening /usr/lib /gnome-bluetooth/plugins/libnma.so: libnm-glib-vpn.so.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory ** (bluetooth-properties:19667): WARNING **: Could not open RFKILL control device, please verify your installation (bluetooth-properties:19667): GLib-GObject-WARNING **: cannot register existing type `BluetoothClient' (bluetooth-properties:19667): GLib-CRITICAL **: g_once_init_leave: assertion `initialization_value != 0' failed ^C The libraries are present. -- bluetooth-wizard will not run - assertion failure https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/429523 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 430071] Re: no network since last update
This is the same as Bug #430405. Network manager does not start automatically anymore. I'm not familiar with the upstart system, but "sudo start network-manager" gets everything up and running. However, it doesn't work on the next boot. From the /etc/init/network- manager.conf file, it should start automatically if the hal and dbus services are started: # network-manager - network connection manager # # The Network Manager daemon manages the system's network connections, # automatically switching between the best available. description "network connection manager" start on (filesystem and started dbus and started hal) stop on (stopping dbus or stopping hal) expect fork respawn exec NetworkManager dbus and hal are started through /etc/init.d/ scripts. Does the Upstart system recognize this? If not, I suppose we'll have to make do until someone converts them to start through Upstart. -- no network since last update https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/430071 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 429523] Re: bluetooth-wizard will not run - assertion failure
I get a similar message with bluetooth-properties: i...@ubulaptop:~$ bluetooth-properties ** (bluetooth-properties:12151): WARNING **: Could not open RFKILL control device, please verify your installation (bluetooth-properties:12151): GLib-GObject-WARNING **: cannot register existing type `BluetoothClient' (bluetooth-properties:12151): GLib-CRITICAL **: g_once_init_leave: assertion `initialization_value != 0' failed These commands start and peg the CPU near 100% until I kill them. [Bug 409819] Re: [regression] Microphone not working after pulse updates on Karmic
ok... I plugged a pair of headphones into my front microphone jack and that gives input on Microphone 2. I can record sound and play it back. Microphone 1 still does not work. Note that I had to toggle all the input switches on gnome-soundmixer and switch the input to Microphone 2 under gnome sound preferences. If I switch back to microphone 1 on sound preferences, the input 1 box comes unchecked in the soundmixer. -- [regression] Microphone not working after pulse updates on Karmic https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/409819 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 409819] Re: [regression] Microphone not working after pulse updates on Karmic
Hi, I'm having this issue as well. Here's my hardware: i...@ubulaptop:~$ lspci | grep Audio 00:1b.0 Audio device: Intel Corporation 82801H (ICH8 Family) HD Audio Controller (rev 02) i...@ubulaptop:~$ arecord -l List of CAPTURE Hardware Devices card 0: Intel [HDA Intel], device 0: STAC92xx Analog [STAC92xx Analog] Subdevices: 3/3 Subdevice #0: subdevice #0 Subdevice #1: subdevice #1 Subdevice #2: subdevice #2 In volume controls, mic 2 has more background noise than mic 1, but recording from either produces just noise.
