[Bug 1576215] Re: Network Manager regularly thinks my wifi is a wired device

2017-01-07 Thread intuiter
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 1574347 ***
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1574347

I started having this problem after a regular package upgrade.
Ubuntu 16.04.1 LTS
Current Network Manager version in my system: 1.2.2

I hope it gets fixed in future versions. For now the workaround is to
run "systemctl restart network-manager.service" after every reboot.

[Bug 1577137] Re: saned.service masked and cannot be unmasked

2016-09-30 Thread intuiter
Thanks for the reply. I was able to get my scanner to work by following
a different route.

1. Uninstalled and re-installed sane and sane-utils (not sure this step was
necessary)
2. Downloaded and installed the drivers from the official Brother website (in
order to use their brsaneconfig4 util)
3. Used brsaneconfig4 to configure the network scanner:
sudo brsaneconfig4 -a name=BrotherScanner model=MFC-L8850CDW ip=

Just listing the steps in case someone else has the same problem.

sane.service still shows inactive (dead), but apparently, as it was
mentioned earlier, it gets activated on demand.

[Bug 1577137] Re: saned.service masked and cannot be unmasked

2016-09-28 Thread intuiter
I am experiencing the same issue after upgrading from 14.04 to 16.04. I have a
Brother MFC-L8850CDW network printer/scanner and it used to be detected
automatically and work fine with the SimpleScan application. After the upgrade
the scanner cannot be detected anymore. The printer still works fine.
I tried a few of the suggestions from the previous posts but no luck.

>sudo service saned status
● saned.service
   Loaded: masked (/dev/null; bad)
   Active: inactive (dead)

>sudo service saned start
Failed to start saned.service: Unit saned.service is masked.

Any possibility this issue will be resolved soon?

The only way I could solve the problem is by doing a fresh install of
the OS.

[Bug 1244285] Re: Date/time sometimes doesn’t appear in menu bar, settings greyed out (Ubuntu 13.10, 14.04)

2014-05-22 Thread intuiter
My Date/Time (and some other indicators) do now show up at all after an
upgrade from 12.04 to 14.04. I have reported it on a separate report
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/indicator-
datetime/+bug/1317288

I am not sure if it is the same problem or a different one.

[Bug 1317288] [NEW] Date and time do not show up on indicator panel

2014-05-07 Thread intuiter
Public bug reported:

Date-time indicator as well as a few other indicators (e.g. cpufreq,
weather) do not show up on my indicator panel even though they are
installed in my system.

This happened for the first time after upgrading from Ubuntu 12.04 to
14.04. It used to show up normaly before.

Other indicators (e.g. keyboard, sound, multiload) show up normaly.

I have tried different things like uninstalling and re-installing the
missing indicators but no luck.

[Bug 842566] Re: Libreoffice and unity integration broken.

2012-11-09 Thread intuiter
I am still experiencing the same promlems with LibreOffice on Ubuntu
12.04 x64. Installing bamfdaemon kind of helped in the sense that the
icon does not completely disappear from the launcher panel and I can use
Alt+Tab, but I still get strange behavior. E.g. when I open a .doc file,
two icons appear on my launcher panel. One of them in invisible (just an
empty space on the launcher panel) and does not do anything.

[Bug 498190] [NEW] gedit-latex-plugin symbols disappear

2009-12-18 Thread intuiter
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gedit

When I create a new latex document on gedit, the symbols on the Symbol
Side Pane disappear, i.e. the Symbol Side Pane is empty.

A workaround to solve the problem is to delete the GeditLaTeXPlugin
folder from ~user/.gnome2/gedit/plugins. That makes the symbols re-
appear until next time I create a new latex document.
