Just noticed that the file size of my pdf was much bigger than yours so I checked my pdf export options (attached). When I choose JPEG compression or Reduce Image Quality I get formula errors in the pdf - although they do not look the same as yours, rather than Arabic characters I get a rectangle character appearing in numerous places. [Bug 244353] Re: [ooo-build] OpenOffice exports PDF with arabic numerals instead of regular numbers
Achim, Just tested your document on karmic alpha 6 with the current official karmic OO.org package which is 1:3.1.1-2ubuntu1 (karmic) I am on 64bit. Firstly let me just be clear that if I download test.odt and export as pdf I get erroneous characters (please see attached file testexport.pdf). However because I have been messing around with mozplugger, the first time I tried it opened test.odt readonly and I had a perfect export of the pdf. This seems to be repeatable - if I change the permissions so that I do not have write permission before I open test.odt in OO I can export the pdf perfectly (see attached file testexport_ro.pdf). Please can you see if this happens for you too. Perhaps it was a fluke. uname -a: 2.6.31-10-generic #35-Ubuntu SMP Tue Sep 22 17:33:14 UTC 2009 x86_64 GNU/Linux ** Attachment added: testexport.pdf http://launchpadlibrarian.net/32375971/testexport.pdf -- [ooo-build] OpenOffice exports PDF with arabic numerals instead of regular numbers https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/244353 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Yes, sorry I tried to make a smaller document with the same problem but it seems to be very inconsistent. I have had to send a version of the original document. The problem is on page 10 of the master document (test.odm) and page 2 of the subdocument (compression driver annular v2.odt). The first sentence of the Compression Driver Description section. This sentence should refer to the figure immediately on the previous page. I have noticed that whether this bug appears depends on the order that I add the documents ot the master. [Bug 244353] Re: OpenOffice exports PDF with arabic numerals instead of regular numbers
I also have this problem. Using Intrepid Alpha 6 on x64. OO version 2.4.1-8ubuntu This is only a problem of numerals which appear within equations not in general text. None of the solutions work for me, although I do find that which numerals are incorrect does seem to erratically change. The print to pdf option is not a good solution - the resulting pdf does not contain the bookmarks. Attached pdf shows problems. (for example subscripts in equation 4) This discussion of the same issue concludes that the bug is not present in the openoffice official release only in the Ubuntu packages: http://user.services.openoffice.org/en/forum/viewtopic.php?f=7t=7796st=0sk=tsd=astart=10 Unfortunately I cannot easily test this as I am using 64bit. I might give it a go on a virtual machine - which would be a solution for me for the short term. I have been aware of this bug for some time and keep seeing reports which conclude it has been fixed... it is not fixed. [Bug 237531] Re: nvidia locks up X on logout
I believe that I am also experiencing the same behavior on Ubuntu/Hardy 32bit with nvidia driver. Symptoms are identical as above. Problem is removed by switching to the nv driver. -- nvidia locks up X on logout https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/237531 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 219180] [NEW] Boot with external monitor breaks gnome-panel
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gnome-panel System information: Hardy beta 8.04 with latest updates Linux 2.6.24-16-generic #1 SMP Thu Apr 10 13:23:42 UTC 2008 i686 GNU/Linux fglrx kernel driver un-edited xorg.conf compiz disabled Steps to create problem: plug in external monitor and boot system into Hardy. Symptoms: Login screen works fine but after user and pass is entered gnome desktop loads and all gnome-panels do not function. There is some variation on the appearance of the gnome-panel, sometimes it is rendered with a few icons on a few occasions it does not appear at-all (but top shows it is running). Problem cannot be fixed by killing and restarting gnome-panel and more worryingly it remains broken on subsequent logins thereafter even after restarting GDM, unplug external monitor restart GDM or complete reboot without external monitor. Fix: To get gnome-panel working again remove the directory ~/.gnome2/panel2.d and then restart GDM. This is not too bad as the position of panels and launcher is retained but custom launchers loose their settings. Cannot locate any signed of the problem in log files with the exception of: ** (nautilus:7733): WARNING **: Unable to add monitor: Not supported in ~/.xsession-errors let me know if you need any more info. ** Affects: gnome-panel (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Boot with external monitor breaks gnome-panel https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/219180 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 211013] [NEW] Hardy beta installer fail at partitioner
Public bug reported: Hardy beta install from i386 desktop iso hangs just before partitioner should load. I am installing Hardy using the iso image extracted to a small ext3 partition which is booted with an edit to my existing menu.lst grub config file. I can boot to the live CD fine using the grub entry but the installer will not get beyond the stage of preparing the partitioner ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Hardy beta installer fail at partitioner https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/211013 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
