[Bug 1071042] Re: gnome-disk-utility missing package dependency from gnome-icon-theme-symbolic

2013-03-28 Thread jadoe
Installing gnome-icon-theme-symbolic did NOT fix this for me, icons are still
missing.

Side note: This doesn't only affect gnome-disk-utility for me, shutter is also
affected.

[Bug 1032867] Re: 20 second delay during boot

2012-10-04 Thread jadoe
This problem disappeared and reappeared and disappeared and reappeared
and disappeared for no apparent reason, until about two weeks ago. Since
then the delay is gone, so I guess this has bin fixed
(unintentionally?).

[Bug 1032867] [NEW] 20 second delay during boot

2012-08-03 Thread jadoe
Public bug reported:

My PC seems to idle for about 20 seconds during boot, the moving bar on
the splash screen freezes for that time. I'm using Xubuntu 12.04 amd64.

The 20 second delay is clearly visible in the attached bootchart,
seconds 21 to 41. This corresponds with two distinctive points on the
Xorg bar, and also with the start times of lightdm (at second 21) and
xfce4-session (at second 41).

I already asked about this on the technical answers system (
https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+question/204795 ), actionparsnip
suggested reporting a bug against xorg.
I mentioned experimenting with connecting and disconnecting displays in that
thread: At one point there was no deley, when only one display was used and it
was connected to the upper of two HDMI ports. I cant preproduce this behavior
anymore howerver. Now the delay is always there, no matter what display is
connected to what port.

Graphics hardware: Sandy Bridge integrated, Intel HD 3000. Desktop system, no
switchable graphics.
