[Bug 271442] [NEW] Streamtuner plugin for Shoutcast.com requires fixing

2008-09-17 Thread jan_k
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: streamtuner

The shoutcast.com plugin for streamtuner does not work anymore because the
shoutcast.com portal has been
totally revised.

The fix is trivial. In the source file of the streamtuner plugin, change the
URLs from http://ww.streamtuner.com
to http://classic.streamtuner.com. Voila.

[Bug 106583] Re: No windows hiding with compiz

2008-08-02 Thread jan_k
I'd like to confirm that alltray_0.69-1ubuntu2~ppa1_i386.deb fixed the
problems for the most part.

However, on hardy, trying to place streamtuner into the tray-bar by pin-
pointing the window, places some icon (not the streamtuner one) into the
traybar. Attempting to close the window through this icon crashes compiz
and the desktop falls-back to the 'non-compiz mode'.

[Bug 223270] [NEW] Alltray causes 100% cpu load with mozilla thunderbird on vanilla hardy

2008-04-27 Thread jan_k
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: alltray

Alltray (0.69-1ubuntu1) in combination with Thunderbird (2.0.0.12
+nobinonly-0ubuntu1) causes 100% cpu load on current Hardy (alltray
--show --no-alltray thunderbird). For other applications I could not
reproduce the problem. Nor does it occur when manually selecting the
window (by pin-pointing it with the cursor). On Gutsy, this worked
perfectly fine.

[Bug 61903] dhcp3 fails to start during boot-time but starts seamlessly invoking the init-script manually

2006-09-22 Thread jan_k
Public bug reported:

The dhcpd of dhcp3-server does not start up on bootup. It fails in case
3 of the check_status function after it invoked the start-stop-daemon.

I don't know exactly what the "if read pid < "$DHCPDPID .." does though.
Anyway, it's a case where the pid-file has been created but the process
is non-existend.

Now the oddity. Run from the shell it works seamlessly.

I have no idea what causes this. I checked permissions, reinstalled,
whatever.

One possibility is that it is somehow dependant on the INTERFACES
variable. That it fails because one of the specified devices isn't up
yet. But there's no suspicious output from the dhcpd in the logs.

My configuration is:

ddns-update-style interim;
ddns-domainname "home";

[Bug 51341] No ALSA sound output on Acer Travelmate 3020

2006-06-29 Thread jan_k
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: alsa-base

The machine is an Acer Travelmate 3022WTMI, the series is 3020 which is
basicly equivalent to the 3010 series.

The sound chip is a Intel 82801G (ICH-7) and covered by the hda-intel driver.
There's abolsutely no error with dmesg or when setting up ALSA or playing some
audio file.
But there's also no output. Neither with the speakers nor the front-jack.

The only suspicious message I can see is "hda_codec: Unknown model for
ALC882, trying auto-probe from BIOS..." with dmesg. ALC882 should be
covered by the latest ALSA drivers. I tried 1.0.11 and 1.0.12rc1.

Maybe I can assume some kernel problem here?
