Re: [Bug 66376] Re: update-manager -c -d (can't find DistUpgradeViewGtk)
I installed python-vte and the upgrade started nicely. I went away from my computer and when I came back the screen was all black and I couldn't kill anything. I had to powerdown and start everything over. Luckily I could type some commands after this incident. There was about ten dependency problems that were easily solved just by installing them. One of them was libnewt0.52 Later it also complained something about sysenter_past_esp+0x54/0x75 but that disappeared after a couple of upgrades :) Afetr about ten dist-upgrades I finally got my system running again with all updates. The upper panel was filled with unknown (gnome-feet) icons. BTW I found one beside that show-desktop icons also. Everything else works fine now. I cannot really tell what's new in this but it feels nice and complete. [Bug 33933] Re: [Bug 33933] Re: crashed at login
Yes, I still have that issue and it's really annoying. I don't think this is a problem with a fresh Ubuntu-install because I haven't seen it anywhere else. On my second computer firefox runs just fine and I think I even use the same extensions and no themes. I still also have the mousescrolling problem that was fixed some time ago. The fix worked for my dad but for me it just keeps on scrolling sideways when I scroll the mousewheel too fast. I have all the updates installed and tried the manual fix by editing xorg.conf . I'm really tempted to do a fresh install with Edgy Eft later but it would be nice to know that these types of problems can be fixed :) On 9/25/06, Sebastien Bacher <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > do you still have that issue? > > -- > crashed at login > https://launchpad.net/bugs/33933 > -- crashed at login https://launchpad.net/bugs/33933 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Yes I have to do that every now and then. Sometimes it's almost like opening the network manager and just doing anything there will get my eth0 up.
