[Bug 348275] Re: [iwlagn] networkmanager applet cannot connect to WPA2 home network

2009-04-01 Thread jmachado
I still can't connect to both of my wireless routers (Thomson tg784 and La
Fonera) using WPA.
If I reboot them, I'm able to connect to them, almost instantly. After that,
I'm unable to connect again.

[Bug 348275] Re: [iwlagn] networkmanager applet cannot connect to WPA2

2009-03-30 Thread jmachado
I had a similar problem when I upgraded from hardy to intrepid on my fonero
router.
I reported the problem here:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/network-manager/+bug/263963
Now I'm using a different router.
It was never solved.

[Bug 272292] Re: [Intrepid] No on-screen display for volume or brightness control on Thinkpad T60

2008-11-05 Thread jmachado
I have the same problem lemonidas.

My problem:
The volume goes up to full or empty when I touch the volume dial, and the OSD
keeps flashing and the keyboard gets disabled/freezes, but the mouse works.
Everything worked fine on 8.04.
This is a fresh install of 8.10.

My hardware and software:
Toshiba U300-130
Linux jmachado-ubuntu 2.6.27-7-generic #1 SMP Tue Nov 4 19:33:20 UTC 2008 i686

2008-11-02 Thread jmachado
I also have the same problem.
Before upgrading to Intrepid (from Hardy Heron), it was working fine. Now it
keeps poping for the passkey.

My hardware:

1 - Laptop
Toshiba U300-130
04:00.0 Network controller: Intel Corporation PRO/Wireless 4965 AG or AGN
[Kedron] Network Connection (rev 61)

2 - Router
Fon with WPA2

Software:

Linux jmachado-ubuntu 2.6.27-7-generic #1 SMP Thu Oct 30 04:18:38 UTC 2008 i686
GNU/Linux

I also subscribed to Bug #263963 on NetworkManager, but they seem to
come to the conclusion that the issue is here.

2008-11-02 Thread jmachado

I think it's either related to a kernel bug or the new NetworkManager in Ubuntu
8.10.
And also specific with to using WPA/WAP2 and that Intel driver and a few other
drivers.

[Bug 231127] Re: unable to launch applications - not found

2008-05-18 Thread jmachado
Solved.
This is not a bug. At least, not with this application.
I solved this problem by solving another problem that I was having.
I was unable to move files to trash. I did some investigating, and i saw some
intriguing things.
Despite the fact that .local/share/Trash had 777 permissions and owner:group
had my own id's, i was unable to get in the directory.
I changed it to 700 and it solved the problem.
Then, I did the same to applications, and it solved this problem. :-)
I still don't know how it got to this situation, but at least, now i know were
to look.
Thank you for all the assistance.

Thanks a lot.

[Bug 136469] Re: toshiba p100 series dsdt acpi error no sound, works with acpi turned off.

2007-10-25 Thread jmachado
Those instructions are for DOS bootable BIOS.
The latest BIOS is only available in Windows upgrade setup.

But I did it. :-)

I used a Windows Live CD Mini PEĀ² XT. Before booting up, I inserted the USB
stick with BIOS update.
Then I went to Windows Explorer, executed the EXE file and voila.

2007-10-25 Thread jmachado
Hi,

I've a couple of questions unanswered that trouble me. which are:
1. How do I upgrade the bios, if I only have Linux? Any ideas?
2. Why isn't the kernel compiled with INTEL_HDA support?

TIA

2007-09-12 Thread jmachado
Public bug reported:

I'm using Lightning version 0.7pre and Thunderbird version 2.0.6.
Everytime I receive a message that contains a meeting ICS attacment, it gives
me "This message contains an event that this version of Lightning cannot
process", and I cannot add that meeting to my calendar.
It worked with prior versions of Lightning.
