[Bug 558571] Re: /etc/ld.so.nohwcap missing
I can confirm that the strace noise is quite annoying. Particularly for programs that load a huge list of plugins and libraries, such as xfce4-settings-manager. [Bug 1447807] Re: systemctl enable fails to enable a SysV service
@pitti I don't understand. @eheydrick said update-rc.d suscceed but systemd still rturning an error. So why update-rc.d or manual symlink would change anything ? This still an issue. I am using device 1a44:0001 VASCO Data Security International Digipass 905 SmartCard Reader I am on Ubuntu 14.04. Unplugging or plugging in this device causes pscsd to crash. This duplicate is my fault, my apport reported a different nvidia version than the nvidia version in the existing bug, so I was not sure it was the same bug. > Le 25 nov. 2014 à 16:38, Lucas a écrit : > > Hi daniel, how are you? > well, I'm sorry if I've opened a duplicated ticket... @dino99 : the bug is invalid for nvidia-graphics-drivers-331-updates but still exists. As seen in a "useless" comment, this must be a stop for people coming from MS Windows. When you look at the workaround, it may be a lightdm or apt bug. What do you suggest ? Flagging this bug as invalid seems OK, but not sufficient nor constructive. A workaround is a workaround, not a fix nor an acceptable situation. Helping bug reporter to find the right package to report against may help to solve bug #1. @wgrant: thanx @all : at least some motivated dev should take a look at what is the origin of the bug to report it against the right package(s) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1268257 Title: nvidia-331-updates 331.38-0ubuntu3: nvidia-331-updates kernel module failed to build, with only error: "objdump: '... .tmp_nv.o': No such file" To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nvidia-graphics-drivers-331/+bug/1268257/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Please: look at first into /etc/lilo.conf: is there a line "boot=" and a line "root="? Then check the images at the end of this file. Are there images? And to which files the images will be linked? The next step could be: download and install the newest lilo package of Ubuntu (upstream version 24.1) which should solve many problems with liloconfig. Then try again liloconfig. [Bug 983879] Re: Failed to hibernate session not authorized Acer Aspire 5750-9668
To the very least, whoever made the decision to disable hibernate mode should get feedback about how many people were affected. It would help making future informed decisions about the issue. Also, there should be a way to discover how to re-enable hibernate mode. I was unaware of that help page about hibernate mode and hadn't found it via Google, so I was left entirely in the dark. Mucking around with polkit shouldn't be the workaround, too. It should be an option somewhere in the system settings. With proper warnings, of course, so people don't come complaining if it doesn't work (and maybe some code that collects hardware data and gives feedback to the Ubuntu team both for "works" and "does not work" cases so that hardware can be whitelisted). I'm not sure whether such a bug report exists. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/983879 Title: Failed to hibernate session not authorized Acer Aspire 5750-9668 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/983879/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1017692] Re: Regression : Webcam not detected anymore
Christopher, if you read carefully this bug page, I already tested upstream kernel and removed "needs-upstream-testing". This bug is a regression of Ubuntu 12.04, webcam was working fine with ubuntu 11.10. Will report lsusb test results with "live cd" later. ** Tags removed: needs-upstream-testing ** Tags added: kernel-bug-exists-upstream -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1017692 Title: Regression : Webcam not detected anymore To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1017692/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1017692] Re: Regression : Webcam not detected anymore
I'm sorry about that, you're message looked a little bit "automated". I attached lsusb and lspci as my webcam is integrated and so lsusb may not be useful (issued from 11.10 live cd) Linux 3.5 rc5 doesn"t changed anything. I seems live cd from previous versions do not detect my webcam. So it is most likely an hardware failure that occurred just after 12.04 install ! So bad... ** Attachment added: "lspci+lsusb_11_10.tar.bz2" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1017692/+attachment/3210772/+files/lspci%2Blsusb_11_10.tar.bz2 -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1017692 Title: Regression : Webcam not detected anymore To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1017692/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
