[Bug 630460] Re: gcalctool crashed with signal 5 in g_object_newv()

2010-09-06 Thread john mall
It's not only gcalctool which works again. On my machine evince is
running again too.

Thanks for the hint Lars.

Is there a possibility to install the libaries only instead of installing the
whole bunch of stuff?
Here it was:

u...@machine:~$ sudo aptitude install empathy
[sudo] password for user:
The following NEW packages will be installed:
  empathy empathy-common{a} libfolks-telepathy0{a} libfolks0{a}

Do you want to continue? [Y/n/?]

[Bug 349837] Re: files conflicting with python-twisted-core

2009-12-12 Thread john mall
workaround that did it for me:

# 1.
downgrade to intrepid

#2.
install calendarsever

#3.
upgrade to current release, karmic in my case

it might be dirty but hey? No offense, but this seems to take a little longer.
python-xml seems to be the culprit. Is it true that this packages was updated
in 2004-11-29 the last time?

[Bug 493289] Re: package nvidia-185-kernel-source not installed failed to install/upgrade: subprocess installed pre-removal script killed by signal Interrupt

2009-12-07 Thread john mall
Hello Jean-Baptiste,

thanks for your reply.

I agree, the issue might be related to that problem.
And yes, the removal process was interrupted. First when i ran aptitude upgrade
and my x-server
crashed. The second time when i tried to dpkg-reconfigure -a. CPU went to 100%
and after 15min
i just interrupted the process by killing it with ctrl+c.

Any suggestions how i might fix this?
Your help is appreciated!
Thanks in advance.

Greetings,
mantikor

[Bug 396816] [NEW] package linux-headers-2.6.31-2-generic (not installed) failed to install/upgrade: subprocess post-installation script returned error exit status 2

2009-07-07 Thread john mall
Public bug reported:

the error accured after my harddrive suddenly shut down and spin up again.
It might have a loose contact in the power-supply-plug (?)

But can that cause the error?

[Bug 343707] Re: Rhythmbox tries to find a codec for a m3u/html file

2009-06-28 Thread john mall
Hello Sebastian,

rhythmbox under karmic koala 9.10 is still asking for the:

- ID3 tag demuxer-
and a
- rfc822 decoder-

plugin. Is that fixed in the karmic package too?

apt-cache policy show me:

rhythmbox:
  Installed: 0.12.2-0ubuntu2
  Candidate: 0.12.2-0ubuntu2
  Version table:
 *** 0.12.2-0ubuntu2 0
