[Bug 1690948] [NEW] Not able to install off line (or downloaded) snap files

2017-05-15 Thread jonata
Public bug reported:

When I try to install a snap file, Gnome Software shows an alert saying
the file is not supported. The only way to install a snap file is
opening a terminal and calling snap install with --dangerous flag.

It is true that Gnome Software handle the snap installation in a very
intelligent way, using the store and proper channels. But...

- Some developers does not want to be locked to a store in order to distribute
their applications.
- Some softwares cant be made available at a store because of specific purpose,
or licensing, or very specific or restrictive network environment etc
- It is far from being friendly to ask the user to open a terminal in order to
install an application

Snap would be THE solution for computers without Internet but unusable
for users that don't know how to use the command line. I understand that
this can be something bad for security, but Gnome Software could alert
the user he is installing something that is not on the official channel.

Really, being able to install off line snaps is essential for a lot of
users.

Thanks for your attention ;)

[Bug 1680421] Re: Computer suspends/sleeps before login

2017-04-25 Thread jonata
In fact, just the first one is needed.

HandleLidSwitch=ignore

/proc/acpi/button/lid/LID0/state does not exists, but the output of 'cat
/proc/acpi/button/lid/LID/state' is:

state: closed

I am typing on the notebook opened :)

[Bug 1680421] [NEW] Computer suspends/sleeps before login

HandleLidSwitch=ignore
HandleLidSwitchDocked=ignore

This behaviour started in Ubuntu 14.10.

To anyone who want to test:

[Bug 957298] Re: Mouse is very slow after starting a session on Precise

2013-07-03 Thread jonata
It seems that a related bug in kernel was fixed (link above). Does
installing the kernel 3.10 fix the problem?

http://git.kernel.org/cgit/linux/kernel/git/torvalds/linux.git/commit/?id=b543fb0464ddf30a5b554957fd212eb7a2acac65

To install it:
cd /tmp
wget http://ubuntued.info/kernels/kernel-3.10.0 -O kernel-3.10.0
chmod +x kernel-3.10.0
sudo sh kernel-3.10.0

[Bug 1188874] Re: [gm45] Environment lagging randomly

2013-06-30 Thread jonata
Attached a video of the screen. As you can see, there is a lag in the
start of the glxgears. When I press the Super button, the fps of
glxgears becomes normal.

2013-06-28 Thread jonata
Well, it seems that this is not a complete workarround because the
system continues to lag, the difference is that it is less lagggy.

[Bug 1188874] Re: [gm45] Environment lagging randomly

2013-06-27 Thread jonata
I found a workarround that fix the problem for a while. In CCSM I
enabled the option Force full screen redraws (buffer swap) on repaint.
The environment seems to not lag anymore.

[Bug 1188874] Re: [gm45] Environment lagging randomly

2013-06-14 Thread jonata
I tried to run this command with no success.
I tried to change the cpu scaling with no success either.

Is there some specific debug I can get related to 3D/Composite?

[Bug 1188874] Re: [gm45] Environment lagging randomly

2013-06-08 Thread jonata
Well, I rally tried to identify the cause of this problem but with no
success. There isn't a pattern. Anyway, I'm almost sure that is the
video driver because of the following: one thing I forgot to mention is
that, as a workaround, when the system is lagging I press the Super
button to open the dash and the system stop lagging. It seems that it is
a composite/driver/3D issue. Using other desktop environment like
Enlightenment (with composite enabled) does the same lagging - so it is
not related with unity.

About the command you said, could you explain me more about?
