Re: [Bug 1039247] Re: Resizing with mouse by clicking window edges is difficult, due to small borders
The openbox developers are insisting that the visual border size is the same thing as the area you must position the mouse pointer over to drag. On other platforms this isn't true. And in practice, increasing the visual border size to a to a clickable size makes my windows look bad. [Bug 1039405] [NEW] Lockups when running vm's with 768MB of memory
Public bug reported: version tested: ubiquity 2.10.20 on 12.04.1 daily build. $md5sum precise-desktop-amd64.iso 64cae667e6fde29ea86043ede5e79493 precise-desktop-amd64.iso Reproducing: setup a new KVM machine with 768 MB of ram. (because users were reporting crashes with 768) *after booting, select try Ubuntu * start the installer, but not anything else. * select "something else" since the disk has no parition table, click to create a "new partition table create an 888 megabyte swap at the end of the disk create a 7701 M swap at the beginning of the disk. Ubiquity crashes when clicking to the next screen. you'll notice that the syslog has a: OSError: [Errno 12] Cannot allocate memory. To fix this bug, ubiquity should not be installing on PC's with too little RAM, especially when crashes are so consistent. [Bug 1039247] [NEW] Resizing with mouse by clicking window edges is difficult, due to small borders
Public bug reported: I believe there is only 1 pixel to click on when resizing windows with the mouse (clicking edge of the window) This has become rather painful for me. Please allow me to "grab" nearby pixels. There are workarounds such as increasing border size, but since KDE has this feature, it's a very ugly workaround. [Bug 1038248] [NEW] Ubiquity Should Check for required RAM before running, Provide helpful error
Public bug reported: Ubiquity doesn't fail gracefully on older computers with low RAM. PC's with 512 MB have problems with ubiquity's manual partitioner, or when Ubiquity is run on a system without a swap partition. Ubiquity should also check that the PC has enough RAM to install when running on the LiveCD, which mounts 200-300MB of files into unrecoverable RAM. Fedora's anaconda graphical installer has a feature that prevents out- of-memory crashes from occuring, by having a configurable memory limit. Having a descriptive error for this common condition would mean that users trying Ubuntu for the first time would not be lost.
