[Bug 198494] Re: lucid can't use bluetooth headset
I'm happy to say that my bluetooth headset is working great with Lucid. I only just purchased one again as I have not had one for the last couple of Ubuntu releases. I have not tried the command line tools for connecting to the headset, but the gui bluetooth / pulseaudio tools included detect, connect and work with the headset. It only appears as a mono device, and works great with skype too. (While the battery lasts). I'm using a BlueAnt Z9i v1.1 headset with a Dell 355 Bluetooth adapter. -- lucid can't use bluetooth headset https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/198494 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

I might also add that I am seeing the same thing with the nouveau driver and subpixel hinting enabled, and when I switch to the closed nvidia driver I'm not sure how to describe it but in openoffice and gvim I am seeing blocky font corruption when subpixel hinting is enabled. If I switch back to best contrast, everything returns to normal. [Bug 358205] Re: Laptop (Dell XPS-M1210) monitor flickers using nvidia-180.xx drivers
I upgraded to Ubuntu-9.04 before I could test this again sorry. I did a clean install and enabled the nvidia-glx-180 driver without any of the side effects I encountered previously. I think it's fair to say that this was just an anomaly with my system and the bug can be marked as invalid. [Bug 358205] [NEW] Laptop (Dell XPS-M1210) monitor flickers using nvidia-180.xx drivers
Public bug reported: Ubuntu 8.10-amd64 ~/ lspci | grep -i nvidia 01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: nVidia Corporation G72M [GeForce Go 7400] (rev a1) Using ubuntu nvidia-glx-180.11 or PPA driver nvidia- glx-180.29-0ubuntu1~andersk1~intrepid1 I do not have any problems with drivers 173 or 177, Only 180's. Have tried 180.11 and 180.29 I have a laptop with an external monitor that I use in twinview. When I upgraded to 180.11 and rebooted the laptop screen flickers like when interlacing is enabled on CRT monitors. Only once X starts, and only on the laptop screen. The external screen is crystal clear. It's like the lines have all been shifted up half a line, and they are slightly fuzzy but still readable. It's just hard on the eyes. Not sure how else to describe it. The laptop screen also appears like it is limited in the number of colours it displays compared to the external monitor as the gradient background image appears to have bands through it instead of being sooth like on the other monitor. It happens with both of the 180 series drivers I tried. It also happens when the external monitor is disconnected. I have tried deleting /etc/X11/xorg.conf and running nvidia-xconfig but it still produces the same problem. It will go away if I go into nvidia-settings and change any setting related to the laptop screen. Ie, set refresh rate to auto instead of 60hz or vice versa and hit apply. The screen will flash black for a second the become crystal clear again. Until I restart X again. Anything else I can try? [Bug 236171] Re: gnome-keyring-daemon and Evolution cause 100% CPU usage
I have been noticing the same issue since I shifted to a fresh install of Hardy. I notice the issue ONLY if: I have not set a Global Address List server name in the Exchange preferences AND Autocomplete is ticked for Global Address List. It seems it is trying to frantically to contact a GAL server, but not told it what server to contact. Once I either turn off Autocomplete for GAL or tell it what GAL it seems happy. I still have ramdom crashes on starting to compose a new email, but very infrequently now. I have noticed that the Autocomplete for GAL turns itself on automatically if I change the Exchange server preferences, and must check it when I restart Evolution to ensure it does not over consume. I am not sure if the bug should be with Autocomplete, evolution-exchange or gnome-keyring though. -- gnome-keyring-daemon and Evolution cause 100% CPU usage https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/236171 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 198494] Re: can't use bluetooth headset
According to this email in the bluez-utils mailing list the is a know problem with 2.6.24 kernels and there is a patch to fix the broken eSCO support for bluetooth 1.2 headsets. http://article.gmane.org/gmane.linux.bluez.user/13675 I have not tried this patch as i'm not sure of the process of building a new deb with this patch included. I am running hardy amd64 if someone wants to build a kernel or module for me to try... I have two usb bluetooth adaptors and two headsets. I know one adaptor supports v2.0+EDR, the other is builtin to the laptop. I get the same errors with both adaptors and headsets. -- can't use bluetooth headset https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/198494 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 144631] Re: xen guest hangs after mounting filesystem
Is anybody still having trouble with this? The only two files I needed to change were: append to > /etc/xen-tools/xm.tmpl extra = ' xencons=tty console=tty1' append to > /usr/lib/xen-tools/gutsy.d/15-disable-hwclock rm -f ${prefix}/etc/init.d/hwclock.sh ${prefix}/etc/init.d/hwclockfirst.sh ${prefix}/etc/udev/rules.d/85-hwclock.rules chmod -x ${prefix}/lib/udev/set_hwclock For xm.tmpl you can either add that line so that xen uses tty's again or you can edit all the tty1 references to be xvc0 in the domU filesystem. [Bug 116714] Re: pppoeconf's generated /etc/ppp/ip-down.d/0clampmss can remove the wrong iptables rules
if you pipe the output to 'sort -r' it will reverse the order of the line numbers and remove them correctly. [Bug 59695] Re: default value in power.sh potentially kills laptop disks
I have a 4 month (approx) old Dell XPS M1210 running Gutsy now. It has never run anything other than Ubuntu. 193 Load_Cycle_Count0x0012 062 062 000Old_age Always - 386280 My biggest concern with this not being marked as critical is that I have changed EVERY setting in the bios and it still increases at 4 per minute. And there are no settings in the gnome power management preferences. If I do not at least get a standard control to reduce this rate I dont think I will have any choice but to keep trying distros until I find a more hdd friendly one. But then again, I have still not seen it do any damage to any old hard drives i've been running though. I'm happy enough adding in extra power management scripts as long as it dosent get interfered with on a apt-get upgrade. -- default value in power.sh potentially kills laptop disks https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/59695 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 112611] Re: ipt_connmark is broken
Yip, I found Ubuntu's support for questionably bleeding edge software supprisingly good too. Just look at compiz and usplash when they first came to light. I'd just put this one down to a bug. [Bug 112611] Re: ipt_connmark is broken
So how do we go about getting this fixed then? I can confirm that the above change mentioned by saresca is all that I need to do before compiling kernel modules to get the module I need. I do not know where to start in making a patch for the kernel package though. The module is about 4.0k after compiling and striping and I know that I have seen stability issues in the past for this module, but that was a long time ago (couple of years). So I dont think size or stability are the issue. It's should now just be a matter of getting someone to accept a patch for the kernel. I do sorely miss this module from Debian. -- ipt_connmark is broken https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/112611 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is a direct subscriber. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
