[Bug 1908429] Re: gnome-shell fills syslog: Attempting to run a JS callback during garbage collection. This is most likely caused by destroying a Clutter actor or GTK widget with ::destroy signal conn
If you've got similar issue where ubuntu-dock disappeared, try running: killall -HUP gnome-shell to reload GNOME Shell. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1908429 Title: gnome-shell fills syslog: Attempting to run a JS callback during garbage collection. This is most likely caused by destroying a Clutter actor or GTK widget with ::destroy signal connected, or using the destroy(), dispose(), or remove() vfuncs. [Bug 1060767] [NEW] Ctrl-PrintScrn and Alt-SysRq are killing the processes in console
Public bug reported: Affected keys (on key release time): - Ctrl+PrintScrn - Alt+SysRq - Win+PrintScrn - and similar like Alt-SysRq + 1-4,7-9,0 (which are ignored by kernel, even these are documented in kernel sysrq.txt) Exceptions: Alt+SysRq+5,6 (because these are only digits which are handled by kernel) Steps to reproduce: 1. Change to the text console (Ctrl-Alt-F1). 2. Log in. 3. Run: sleep 100 (or any other command like: cat, head, etc.) 4. Press Ctrl-PrintScrn or Alt-SysRq (and release the key). 5. Process get killed by: ^\Quit (core dumped) What I expect is to change my log level of kernel messages by Alt-SysRq + 0-9 as documented at http://kernel.org/doc/Documentation/sysrq.txt Or use any other shortcuts using PrintScrn key. Normally the only keys which should be killing the processes are: Ctrl+4 and Ctrl+\ but not the other. Originally I've reported it here: http://debbugs.gnu.org/cgi/bugreport.cgi?bug=12478 But this doesn't happens on other distributions. So I was advised to report key mapping issue to my software distribution community. ** Affects: binutils (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Affects: coreutils (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Also affects: coreutils (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Description changed: - Affected keys (no release time): + Affected keys (on key release time): - Ctrl+PrintScrn - Alt+SysRq - Win+PrintScrn - and similar like Alt-SysRq + 1-4,7-9,0 (which are ignored by kernel, even these are documented in kernel sysrq.txt) Exceptions: Alt+SysRq+5,6 (because these are only digits which are handled by kernel) Steps to reproduce: 1. [Bug 1053910] [NEW] My plasma-desktop is critically sluggish, panel and kdialog reacts after few minutes because of dbus Timeout problem
Public bug reported: I've been sent from pillar to post from almost few days, spent already few days investigating my Ubuntu slugginess right just after install, so I hope this report is now in the right place. I don't have time for this, I really need to work, instead of spending days fighting with simple usage of Ubuntu and reporting the bugs and receiving messages like 'this is not a bug of x', 'this is not a bug of y'. The bug affects affect in general plasma-desktop on Ubuntu. Some examples: Using Chrome which uses KDialog, any file upload takes minutes. KDialog timeouts after 25 seconds 4 times, makes it the whole minute to show up. Steps to Reproduce: 1. Go to: https://code.google.com/p/chromium/issues/entry 2. Click on: Attach the file 3. Click on: Choose File 4. Problem: Nothing happens. 5. After 25 seconds KDialog appears. 6. It takes another 20-30 seconds to fully load (still you can't click anything). 7. After the whole 1 minute you can choose the file. Other bugs which I've reported related to KDialog: Against KDE KDialog: https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=307049 Status: "I can only guess from seeing the parts you posted, that there is a kded module blocking the D-Bus system. Please try disabling kded modules as described at http://kdepepo.wordpress.com/2011/05/11/troubleshooting-kded4-bugs/"; Against KDialog it-self: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/kde-baseapps/+bug/1053869 Status: this is only a small issue of bigger thing Other bugs which I've reported related to KDE plasma-desktop: Steps to Reproduce: 1. Click on KDE "start" button 2. Nothing happens. 3. After 1 minute and 30 seconds you'll see the context menu! Some people say, it's better later, than never. Against KDE plasma-desktop: https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=307048 Status: currently ignored And finally against the DBus it-self: https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=55136 Status: "This is probably the problem: there seems to be some sort of incompatibility involving Ubuntu's "dbusmenu" system and how it interacts with Qt/KDE applications. Please report this to the suppliers of the packages you're using (Ubuntu, Kubuntu, or any third-party dbusmenu or KDE packages you're using). I don't think this is a D-Bus bug." Other related links: http://www.mail-archive.com/active@kde.org/msg00243.html As well currently I can't do any launchpad upgrade or send any apport-collect, because of these annoying bugs: https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/apt/+question/202373 https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/apport/+bug/1053861 https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/apport/+bug/1053400 So to not repeating my-self and pasting a bunch of strace, debug stuff (which you can access from the links above), the current status of this big Ubuntu and KDE bug as suggested from DBus support, is as follow: > (process:7387): GLib-GIO-WARNING **: Received property menu with type s does > not match expected type o in the expected interface void > DBusMenuImporter::slotGetLayoutFinished(QDBusPendingCallWatcher*): "No such > interface `com.canonical.dbusmenu' on object at path /" Please report this to the suppliers of the packages you're using (Ubuntu, Kubuntu, or any third-party dbusmenu or KDE packages you're using). So now I'm reporting it now against Ubuntu, as my reports against KDE, X, DBus failed. ** Affects: kde-baseapps (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1053910 Title: My plasma-desktop is critically sluggish, panel and kdialog reacts after few minutes because of dbus Timeout problem To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/kde-baseapps/+bug/1053910/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1053869] [NEW] KDialog takes minutes to show up
Public bug reported: Originally reported here: https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=307049 Basically any call to KDialog generates some dbus messages which are timeouting after 25 seconds, 4 of them makes 1 minute to run simple popup. As suggested there, this could be a problem with some kded module blocking the D-Bus system. For sure! I was using Ubuntu at my work. After upgrade it was completely broke. I found it, probably here: https://bugzilla.gnome.org/browse.cgi?product=gtkmm Thanks. -- SEGV when using MySQL Workbench after MySQL timeout https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/677379 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 677379] Re: SEGV when using MySQL Workbench after MySQL timeout
Doesn't matter which system, if it's the same library with the same source. Where is the proper place to report bugs against gtkmm? http://gtkmm.sourceforge.net/ ? -- SEGV when using MySQL Workbench after MySQL timeout https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/677379 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 677379] Re: SEGV when using MySQL Workbench after MySQL timeout
It's the same bug as here: http://bugs.mysql.com/bug.php?id=58249 But they said that I've to check with new version (which probably will do the same), but I can't, because doesn't compile on FreeBSD. Now I'm stuck. Even you have full backtrace with debug symbols, it's not possible to check what cause the problem and fix it from the source of that problem? If this library already detected some problem, that's: unhandled exception (type std::exception) in signal handler:\nwhat: %s in it-self. Why it have to do the SEGV, rather to return at least some error to the main software. If you type in Google: IA__g_cclosure_marshal_VOID__OBJECT There are plenty of crahes, so it's not only affect one software. ** Bug watch added: MySQL Bug System #58249 http://bugs.mysql.com/bug.php?id=58249 -- SEGV when using MySQL Workbench after MySQL timeout https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/677379 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 677379] Re: SEGV when using MySQL Workbench after MySQL timeout
Because it's doing SEGV inside this library at Window_signal_set_focus_callback, so it could be bug in gtkmm? -- SEGV when using MySQL Workbench after MySQL timeout https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/677379 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 677379] Re: SEGV when using MySQL Workbench after MySQL timeout
250 is only Implementation, FROM LINE 38 CODE IS: Window::Window(const Glib::RefPtr& parent, GdkWindowAttr* attributes, int attributes_mask) : Drawable((GdkDrawable*) gdk_window_new(Glib::unwrap(parent), attributes, attributes_mask)) { //GdkWindow is X11/win32-specific, so we probably can't derived our own GType. } Or I'm checking it wrong? How to reproduce the problem: Run MySQL Workbench (5.2.1?), open tab with database connection, restart your mysql server, go back to your connection tab, it should crash. -- SEGV when using MySQL Workbench after MySQL timeout https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/677379 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
