[Bug 910214] [NEW] Creating a Video DVD image using Brasero, I get the message: Impossible to link plugin pads

2011-12-30 Thread kimus
Public bug reported:

When I try to create a video DVD image using Brasero, I get the message:
Impossible to link plugin pads.

The videos I'm using are 400 x 296, 15 fps, H.264 with AAC audio. When I
open Help Plugins in Brasero, it reports that all the required plugins
are enabled and working.

I'm using Ubuntu 11.04 with Brasero 3.2.0-ubuntu1.

Any help would be appreciated!

[Bug 706269] Re: nanny does not prevent user loging

2011-05-07 Thread kimus
The propose of this package is to control users from using the computer
and web filtering. So, it should be very useful for parents (like me).
What I found out is that it simply doesn't work!

Doesn't prevent user from login, tough a notify popup 'informs' the user that
the session will be open in X hours.
No default blacklist imported, so we must search for one to be able to test if
the second feature works this time...

Sorry, I can't attach the logs now. The machine is being used now.

BTW I was using Ubuntu 9.04 maybe Y.C. Chen can test on this version and
attach the logs using gdm and using xdm.

[Bug 407359] Re: USB Modem e156G not working

2009-07-31 Thread kimus
after some debugging with asac help I figure out to put this modem
working :-)

for reference I added this PPA:
https://edge.launchpad.net/~network-manager/+archive/ppa
and deleted the connection that I had and used the connection wizard to create
a new connection. Some modems needs to have user and passwd filled, any will
do. And some need the right APN.

2008-11-22 Thread kimus
I think the problem reported in
http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=917789 is the same.

In the /etc/modprobe.d/nvidia-kernel-nkc file you can have two drivers:
nvidia and nvidia_new you should have nvidia_new (!), After changing the
file just reboot.

[Bug 234292] [NEW] laptop video output garbage

2008-05-23 Thread kimus
Public bug reported:

In my DELL Laptop (Precision M90) for some months and in a randomly
manner my video output (monitor) just sends me garbage (like an out of
sync). Even if I go to the console (Ctrl+F1) the video is in 'garbage
mode'. Some times this problem doesn't happens one day but the next day
may occur 2 or 3 times :-S.

My only workaround is to go to suspend (Stand by) mode (Fn+Esc in my
laptop) and when I wake up my laptop all is fine.

I have the latest BIOS and proprietary nvidia-glx-new drivers. I did not
find any thing abnormal in the Xorg log files after wake up from the
suspend state.

Please Help me. I'm getting desperate...

[Bug 212526] [NEW] monitor/video garbage (out of sync) even in a console (ALT+F2)

2008-04-05 Thread kimus
Public bug reported:

Sometime I just see garbage on my monitor (maybe a out of sync) even when I go
to a console (ALT+F2) the monitor doesn't display correctly.
Work around is to suspend my laptop and wake it up. After going back up all
it's fine again!?

This problem happens sometimes and in a random way :-S didn't found any
way to reproduce the problem.

I've got a Dell Precision M90 Laptop with the latest BIOS and it has a
NVidia video adapter.

I'm almost sure I had the same problem in Gutsy one or two weeks before
I upgraded to Hardy. Maybe it's a problem with the latest nvidia
drivers.

Please help me where to get some information on troubleshoot (i.e: logs)
this problem.
