I have this issue and have found that tagtool also has the same problem,
so I guess there is a shared library somewhere his has an issue!

Hi,

I have just resurrected a Inspiron 510m which has this issue.
As it sounds like the issue is diagnosed and patched, is this likely to be
sorted soon ?

[Bug 569704] [NEW] MythVideo doesnt create required folders on new install

2010-04-25 Thread kja999
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: mythplugins

On a new install of MythVideo, the base folders needed for metadata in
the user profile are not created.

With a new install (or new user profile), run myth and when running the
Download Metadata, you will get the text but no images.
In the log are these entries:

2010-04-25 11:01:36.243 Coverart download finished: Error: file error 'No such
file or directory' for file
/home/keith/.mythtv/MythVideo/Artwork/6557_coverart.jpg 1

file or directory' for file
/home/keith/.mythtv/MythVideo/Fanart/6557_fanart.jpg 1

The Artwork and Fanart folders do not exist .. the user should either be
prompted to create them, or have them created at client launch time.

[Bug 569462] [NEW] Ubuntu One needs a link to music downloads

2010-04-24 Thread kja999
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: rhythmbox-ubuntuone-music-store

After downloading a purchased album (SLOWLY.. but thats another bug!)
from the Music store there should be a link within the Ubuntu One folder
so I can see the files.

The files are downloaded to /home/username/.local/share/ubuntuone/Purchased
from Ubuntu One/ but there is no simple link anywhere to get to them.
I expected the download to automatically go into my Rhythmbox music folder, but
it doesn't.
My next logical step was to look in the Ubuntu One folder in my user root, but
nothing is there either.

I would image for most users this will become frustrating rather
quickly.

At the very least, can you add a symlink in the Ubuntu One folder which
points to the Purchased from... folder ?

[Bug 266927] Re: Static sound on Left Channel with hda-intel STAC 9221 A1

2010-01-11 Thread kja999
I ran the alsa data collection script and noticed pulseaudio had somehow got
back onto my system.
Removed it (using apt-get purge pulseaudio, not just remove), then did a
suspend and resume, and I no longer seem to have the static.
Will see if this stays that way, but right now it seems to be pulseaudio
mucking about again.

[Bug 502262] Re: autofs4 doesn't timeout cifs mounted shares

2010-01-09 Thread kja999
I had tried autofs5 before to try and resolve without success.
This time I purged autofs first.

I kept the delivered version of auto.master and added my one line to it (the
difference from my previous attempt was not to remove the +auto.master line).
Restarted and the mount umounted after the default 5 mins.

So yes, autofs5 works for me now!

[Bug 502262] [NEW] autofs4 doesn't timeout cifs mounted shares

2010-01-02 Thread kja999
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: autofs

Autofs is not auto unmounting after the timeout.

I have adopted using autofs on 3 machines, a 9.20 mythbuntu, and two 9.04
crunchbang machines.
On the crunchbang machines autofs will correctly honour the information in the
auto.master and timeout the mounts when not in use ('not in use' is checked via
lsof for the mount).
On the 9.10 mythbuntu box however the mounts always remain active although no
files are in use. Manually unmounting works correctly.
Nothing in logged by autofs in messages/syslog
I removed any switches for the timeout to see if it was my config but even the
default timeout time doesn't work.
(To see what timeout was relevant I run: 'ps -elf | grep autofs', you can see
the timeout switch in the command)

The config and autofs versions on all machines are the same
(4.1.4+debian-2.1ubuntu2).

My config files are attached.

[Bug 44008] Re: Shutdown still doesn't turn off my computer

2009-12-18 Thread kja999
Hi,

Tried it but no joy.
I put my pc into a 3 minute cycle of shutdown, then acpi wakeup after 2 mins.
It seems to be ok for the first 2 restarts but seems to be 'reasonably'
consistent that the 3rd time it hangs on shutdown. Power light goes off, but
monitor output remains active (with no actual output, just a black screen).

[Bug 266927] Re: Static sound on Left Channel with hda-intel STAC 9221 A1

2009-09-11 Thread kja999
After posting here I decided it was about time I put some effort into sorting
this.
First step was to read the alsa config docs, which showed there is another mac
hardware option model=intel-mac-auto

Updated this into my modprobe.d file (which now reads: options snd-hda-intel
position_fix=2 probe_mask=1 model=intel-mac-auto), and rebooted.
Sound now seems to be fixed !?

Have done 3 reboots and system has suspended another 3 or so times and
the static hasn't returned.

Seems the root cause is some alsa config.

[Bug 266927] Re: Static sound on Left Channel with hda-intel STAC 9221 A1

2009-09-09 Thread kja999
I am using an Intel Mac Mini, which, for over a year, never had these
problems running Fedora, and I have been having this problem for the
past two months now (using Mythbuntu) so I guess there is something in
Ubuntu which has caused it.

I have tried all the solutions I have found from purging the alsa
install, rebooting many times, changing the PCM volumes and changing the
modprobe conf.

None of these are a permanent fix and the issue will come back after a suspend.
Specifically the modprobe conf changes are interesting, as entering
model=macmini causes all sound to stop on restart of the system (same results
as using all other mac model options).

This is on a eee 901 so should be reproducable by someone else ?
