[Bug 222176] Re: initramfs error/problem ubuntu 8.04
Arch linux stalls during "loading Udev uevents" and outputs a blank screen. I get a blinking cursor in the upper left corner when I run the Ubuntu live CD with "acpi=off". I also get a GRUB error 2 when I try to boot Archlive from a USB drive unless I switch the "order of the hdds" whatever that means form the BIOS and put the USB drive before the HDD. Someone suggested in a thread in the ubuntu forums to switch off auto recognition of IDE [sic] devices (a SATA HDD and SATA DVD drive) and use DMA, but the two options in the BIOS are auto and disabled. -- initramfs error/problem ubuntu 8.04 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/222176 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 222176] Re: initramfs error/problem ubuntu 8.04
It's noteworthy that it comes with freedos installed, which crashes after some use, and also a xubuntu 8.04 cd. -- initramfs error/problem ubuntu 8.04 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/222176 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 187335] Re: Unlock button throws an error, doesn't authenticate
Well, it does not occur in a fresh install of Hardy Alpha 5, if there's anything else I need to do, just tell me. -- Unlock button throws an error, doesn't authenticate https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/187335 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 187335] Re: Unlock button throws an error, doesn't authenticate
dbus is running, I ran dbus-monitor and "ps x | grep dbus". dbus- monitor outputs nothing when I click on Unlock, though it does upon launch and close of the apps. I'm attaching the output of these. ** Attachment added: "dbus.txt" http://launchpadlibrarian.net/11672575/dbus.txt -- Unlock button throws an error, doesn't authenticate https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/187335 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 187335] Re: Unlock button throws an error, doesn't authenticate
I'm sorry, this is the first time I've tried to report a bug... I thought this would automactically be assigned to Hardy. Also I forgot important details. This occurs in Hardy Alpha 3 with the latest update. The version of gnome-system-utils is 2.21.5.1-0ubuntu1 and also I'm using Xubuntu. -- Unlock button throws an error, doesn't authenticate https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/187335 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 187335] [NEW] Unlock button throws an error, doesn't authenticate
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gnome-system-tools In Users and Groups, Date and Time, and Network Manager, there is an Unlock button, which I guess replaces prompting for a sudo password upon clicking on them. When I click on it, the message "Could not authenticate" and "an unknown error has ocured" is displayed. When I run users-admin from the console, when I click on it "** (users-admin:11615): CRITICAL **: The name org.gnome.PolicyKit was not provided by any .service files" is displayed in the console. When I run "sudo users-admin" immediately "** (users-admin:11618): CRITICAL **: Unable to lookup session information for process '11618'" is displayed in the terminal window. When run with sudo, the Unlock button is not clickable but I do not have administrative priviledges. ** Affects: gnome-system-tools (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Unlock button throws an error, doesn't authenticate https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/187335 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 145337] Re: Brightness key stopped working after update [Gutsy]
I upgraded from Xubuntu 7.04 to 7.10 and the Fn key combos on my Toshiba Satellite L40-12K stopped working, including the brightness adjusting ones. Also Xfce's Ctrl+Esc shortcut doesn't work now, it works maybe once in 20 tries. This is also the case with a fresh install of Xubuntu 7.10. -- Brightness key stopped working after update [Gutsy] https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/145337 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kubuntu Team, which is a bug contact for kdebase in ubuntu. -- kubuntu-bugs mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/kubuntu-bugs
[Bug 176553] Re: Powertop reports that CPU state is C0 100% of the time, regardless of number of wakeups
I have the same problem. My laptop is a Toshiba Satellite L40-12K. In the BIOS there is the option Dynamic CPU Frequency Mode, which can be set to Dynamically Switchable or Always Low. when it is set to Always Low powertop reports the state as: C0 (cpu running) (100%) C1 0,0ms (0%) C2 0,0ms (0%) C3 0,0ms (0%) -- Powertop reports that CPU state is C0 100% of the time, regardless of number of wakeups https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/176553 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 155753] Re: gparted crashes after finishing a work
I have the same problem, but it's been worse with previous versions, on gutsy it is finally usable, although I have to unmount from the command line because it remounts upon scanning. I'm sorry that I can't be more specific, I just avoided using gparted before beucase it threw all kinds of errors and I was to afraid to even attempt to use it. -- gparted crashes after finishing a work https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/155753 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
