[Bug 851556] [NEW] Checkgmail does not work with unity panel

2011-09-15 Thread kurt belgrave
Public bug reported:

When running checkgmail no icon is seen in the panel, therefore cant
click on emails

Found a forum link that describes howto fix
http://ubuntuforums.org/archive/index.php/t-1756700.html
Summary
sudo apt-get install dconf-tools
To fix this I opened the dconf-editor and clicked on desktop -> unity -> panel
I clicked on the Set to Default button.
Then I highlighted the systray whitelist and then added Checkgmail and then hit
Enter key
The closed the editor and logged out and back in again.

[Bug 846367] Re: When opening a directory with totem, video files are added to the playlist but some of them won't play

2011-09-14 Thread kurt belgrave
Looking at http://projects.gnome.org/totem/
They say before filing bugs to make sure that is the latest version of totem
and gstreamer that you are running.
I am therefore leaving the status as incomplete and would ask you to please
test this against the development version of ubuntu (oneiric) and report back
if you are having the issue here.

Thank you for taking the time to report this issue and helping to make
Ubuntu better. Examining the information you have given us, this does
not appear to be a bug report so we are closing it and converting it to
a question in the support tracker. We appreciate the difficulties you
are facing, but it would make more sense to raise problems you are
having in the support tracker at https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu if
you are uncertain if they are bugs. For help on reporting bugs, see

[Bug 588222] Re: NVIDIA: X Screen works badly on the left

2011-03-19 Thread kurt belgrave
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. Please execute the following command, as it will
automatically gather debugging information, in a terminal:

apport-collect 588222

This will help us to find and resolve the problem. Bear in mind that you
may need to install the python-launchpadlib package from the universe
repository. Additionally, when prompted to give apport-collect
permissions for Launchpad you will need to give it at least the ability
to "Change Non-Private" data as it will be adding information to your
bug report. Thanks in advance!

When reporting bugs in the future please use apport, either via the
appropriate application's "Help -> Report a Problem" menu or using
'ubuntu-bug' and the name of the package affected. You can learn more
about this functionality at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/ReportingBugs.

Then today suddenly i could not see a larger resolution than 800x600, when i
put back the auto-generated xorg.conf it works fine. I looked at the both
xorg.0.log and old and they appear to be the same also, let me know what else i
can do to help.

[Bug 601723] Re: installation program requires unmounting itself

2011-03-08 Thread kurt belgrave
Looking at the wikipage where you are trying this from
quote "Note2: Instead of using 'workaround', an alternative is to modify the
file /etc/mtab by erasing the line that specifies the partition where the cdrom
is mounted. This way the kernel thinks thats the /cdrom is not mounted and will
not show the advice when installing ubuntu. I think this procedure is less
dangerous than the one in the previus note. "
Can you try this and let me know if you are sucessful.

[Bug 701060] Re: Boot failure

2011-03-07 Thread kurt belgrave
Peter
Is working for you now after you ran the commands?
Also i was speaking to the bugsquad about your error and it seems that it is
fairly common, and a easy fix since all you have to do is restart

quote:

charlie-tca This is a not uncommon issue with both upstart and plymouth
19:16
charlie-tca sometimes with parallel processing during boot, things collide,
causing the boot to fail19:17
trinikrono charlie-tca: is that documented on a wiki anywhere? 19:18
charlie-tca I have no idea. It is a bug, but low priority 19:20
charlie-tca Easy workaround; reboot

Lastly
Please dont set the bug status to in progress ( that is for when a developer is
working on a bug).
And do you have a package named flush installed you can try removing that and
see if you boot fine since it is the last executeable i see running in
bootchart.

Cheers
