Well I use Firefox 11 on Ubuntu 11.10 and Chrome on ubuntu 11.10 and there are icons. It's true that on 12.04 they are missing. [Bug 974915] Re: Nautilus Context menu missing icons
Well - ok - however one man's design decision can be another man's bug. I agree with the sentitment that there can be too many icons, however to remove all of them, especially with respect to the ability to use Nautilus-Actions to add apps to the Context menu, this is a poor decision. I am an average user and a software developer across all the main OS's and this is poor decision - Firefox, Chrome and Thunderbird seem to be ok with icons on their context menus , icons help break up the menus, making it eaiser for the users to scan for the option they are looking for. A complete 'wall' of text strikes the eye very poorly and does the exact opposite of what the 'design' intended. These types of decision should be applied via dconf settings - not via a blank removal. [Bug 561210] Re: Writing big files to NFS target causes system lock up
It may be related to LVM - I get the issue on my root disk. This is mounted via an LVM. The PC cannot decide if the Wireless switch is off or on. Sometimes boots fine, other times the wireless is on and the bluetooth is off and then reversed. If I switch on and off repeatedly PC sometimes figures it out and sets both devices to the correct state. Bear in mind that the BIOS settings are to disable the wireless switch.
