I did upload it via my 14.04 laptop as I could not upload it from the
15.10, so maybe that picked up the 14.04 details for systemd-logind?

Here is a screen shot from the 15.10 terminal showing the reboot log
from last evening and this morning..

reporting against systemd generated the report correctly might need
another bug report for that ?

UpgradeStatus: No upgrade log present (probably fresh install)

So the crash uploader was trying to report against systemd-logind and
failing?

I believe this problem is not a WIFI issue only - unless I have a new
bug. My experience only started with 14.04 and the issue occurs on Wired
Connection. Network Manager will not re-enable the network connection.

2014-02-20 Thread kylea
*** This bug is a security vulnerability ***

Public security bug reported:

Implementation should start very soon if not already started and I think
it's Michael Zanetti who will be working on this.

Cannot access this either?

[Bug 1229143] Re: Contact details from another user appear in message creation

2013-09-28 Thread kylea
I tried to repeat this and could not - I can confirm though that if two
contacts share the same phone number the first one to be assigned that
number is the one that gets selected in the New SMS form even if the
other contact is touched.

Guess that makes sense as only one person can have the physical phone.

[Bug 1229143] Re: Contact details from another user appear in message creation

2013-09-27 Thread kylea
That maybe - however in this instance I believe it was because a contact
did not have any details other than a name - I then assigned the contact
to the contact whose details started to appear on every SMS.

I have subsequent deleted the contacts in Google and re-sync'ed them.

I'll try and re-create the contacts in the same state and test that
also.

[Bug 1227941] Re: GMail App - css does not get applied to the Mail App

2013-09-21 Thread kylea
BTW to update this file I mounted the Nexus 4 on my Ubuntu Desktop -
copied the file to my desktop and added the extra values and then copied
it back to Documents folder

To actually update the file I mounted the phones filesystem as RW

mount -n -o remount,rw /

then copied the file to the path /usr/lib/arm-linux-

Attached is a modified version of ua-overrides.js that formats GMail Web
App correctly. There is a slight correction to the suggested format -
must have ["Mobile",".

var overrides = {
"google.com": ["Mobile","Mozilla/5.0 (Ubuntu; Linux; Android 4.2.2)
AppleWebKit/537.21 Mobile Safari/537.21"],

[Bug 965371] Re: HTTPS requests fail on sites which immediately close the connection if TLS 1.1 negotiation is attempted, on Ubuntu 12.04

2012-11-13 Thread kylea
I have replaced my calls to

$content = file_get_contents($url);

with a curl call...

$curl = curl_init($url);

if (is_resource($curl) === true)
{
curl_setopt($curl, CURLOPT_FAILONERROR, true);
curl_setopt($curl, CURLOPT_FOLLOWLOCATION, true);
curl_setopt($curl, CURLOPT_RETURNTRANSFER, true);
curl_setopt($curl, CURLOPT_SSLVERSION, 3);
curl_setopt($curl, CURLOPT_SSL_VERIFYPEER, true);
curl_setopt($curl, CURLOPT_SSL_VERIFYHOST, 2);

if (isset($post) === true)
{
curl_setopt($curl, CURLOPT_POST, true);
curl_setopt($curl, CURLOPT_POSTFIELDS, (is_array($post) === true) ?
http_build_query($post, '', '&') : $post);
}

$content = curl_exec($curl);

curl_close($curl);
}

Key point here is >   curl_setopt($curl, CURLOPT_SSLVERSION, 3);

This seems to work on http and https sites.

My 12.04 (kernel 3.2-0-25-generic) reports the message :

could not get freq at ep 0x86

so the message is slightly different - the web cam does work

[Bug 974915] Re: Nautilus Context menu missing icons

2012-04-09 Thread kylea
Well I use Firefox 11 on Ubuntu 11.10 and Chrome on ubuntu 11.10 and
there are icons.

It's true that on 12.04 they are missing.

And great there is an options to turn them back on - could have saved a
few tons of carbon with that info - so it is not really invalid at all -
its an option - thanks for the information

[Bug 974915] Re: Nautilus Context menu missing icons

2012-04-09 Thread kylea
Well - ok - however one man's design decision can be another man's bug.

I agree with the sentitment that there can be too many icons, however to
remove all of them, especially with respect to the ability to use
Nautilus-Actions to add apps to the Context menu, this is a poor
decision.

I am an average user and a software developer across all the main OS's
and this is poor decision - Firefox, Chrome and Thunderbird seem to be
ok with icons on their context menus , icons help break up the menus,
making it eaiser for the users to scan for the option they are looking
for. A complete 'wall' of text strikes the eye very poorly and does the
exact opposite of what the 'design' intended.

These types of decision should be applied via dconf settings - not via a
blank removal.

Just an opinon. :)

Yes know that I have noticed it is missing and I looked for a bug before
filing one in the process in noticed references to Evolution ad the
email client , given the potential move to Thunderbird cannot see why
the question is out Of place

[Bug 765290] Re: Nautilus-actions and Unity Desktop - actions missing from context menu

2011-05-17 Thread kylea
I compiled 3.1.2 and I also was able to get Nautilus-Actions to work.
There was a minor issue with the auto-conversion of the Gconf
configuration to .desktop files. Other than that it works perfectly now

[Bug 765290] Re: Nautilus-actions and Unity Desktop - actions missing from context menu

2011-05-07 Thread kylea
Apparently this must have been a bug in Nautilus-Actions - the developer
has indicated that 3.1.2 works.

Seeing as 11.10 is planned for 3.0.5 we may need a version update -

I have tried to install the 3.1.2 version via alien on the .rpm - but it
fails with libc6 complaining about

/usr/bin/nautilus-actions-config-tool: /lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libc.so.6:
version `GLIBC_2.14' not found (required by /usr/lib/libunique-3.0.so.0)

Here is the note from the developer

https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=647663

Screenshow of a submenu opened on the desktop

The joined screen has been taken in released Ubuntu 11.04, with the latest
Nautilus-Actions 3.1.2.

As you can see, when clicking on the desktop, the Nautilus-Actions actions
normally appear in the submenu, and Nautilus-Actions submenu is normally
displayed.

Please update to latest versions.
If your behavior persists, please join your actions.

[Bug 628047] Re: dpkg stalls and fails to complete update kernel times out

2010-09-03 Thread kylea
Thanks nutznboltz - i have created a new server instance as I could not
get past the download step.

I will have a fiddle with this and see if I can get the alternative
kernel installed. The repositories are in a confused state trying to fix
a failed update - there is a partial update hanging around that i cannot
clean up for the 2.6.32-24 kernel.

Dell Latitude E6500

Getting same behaviour. The PC cannot decide if the Wireless switch is
off or on. Sometimes boots fine, other times the wireless is on and the
bluetooth is off and then reversed. If I switch on and off repeatedly PC
sometimes figures it out and sets both devices to the correct state.

Bear in mind that the BIOS settings are to disable the wireless switch.

I can confirm similar behaviour. My Optus mobile broadband connected to
a Windows XP - next to my Koala works fine, plug the modem into my Koala
and I get all the right lights on but no DNS.

However sometimes it has worked.

Model is Huawei E160E HSDPA USB Stick
