[Bug 839503] [NEW] Huawei e160e fails to move packets, gets settings via dhcp right. wvdial works 100 %

2011-09-02 Thread latrom
Public bug reported:

Hello. It seems that there is a bug in network-manager which for some
reason does not permit packets to be moved through the 3G modem
interface it has set up. Network-manager can get the IP address settings
right from DHCP but even pinging the gateway fails. Wvdial works 100 %
and it is a workaround. Many people have huawei 3g modems and this is a
very annoying bug.

[Bug 656255] [NEW] package can not be installed on maverick, limited synaptics functionality

2010-10-07 Thread latrom
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-input-synaptics

Hello. It seems that the package has dependency problems:

r...@eee:~# apt-get install xserver-xorg-input-synaptics
Luetaan pakettiluetteloita... Valmis
Muodostetaan riippuvuussuhteiden puu
Luetaan tilatiedot... Valmis

Näillä paketeilla on tyydyttämättömiä riippuvuuksia:

[Bug 653043] Re: network-manager asks pin code on huawei e160e, the pin can not be entered because the pin window is unresponsive

2010-10-04 Thread latrom
I think that the problem is following: the 3g dongle can work either in
a usb-storage mode or 3g dongle mode. You need to somehow tell the
dongle that you want the 3G functionality. I do not know if network-
manager has such functionality but it would be highly appreciated. Last
time I tried, I was unable to get the huawei dongle to work on my ibm
thinkpad T43/p.

[Bug 653043] [NEW] network-manager asks pin code on huawei e160e, the pin can not be entered because the pin window is unresponsive

2010-10-01 Thread latrom
Public bug reported:

Hello. It seems that on ubuntu there are two programs or windows which
ask for the pin code. The non network-manager program steals the focus
and keyboard to itself thus making it impossible to insert the pin on
the network-manager window which is on top of the smaller focus stealing
window. Or it might be possible if one enters the pin code blind, I have
not tried yet. Anyways, the bug is _HIGHLY ANNOYING_.

The smaller window stealing the focus and keyboard is actually under the
bigger PIN window. I dragged the bigger window out of the way.

[Bug 537176] [NEW] the firefox window stalls, does not go away with killing, graphics related

2010-03-11 Thread latrom
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-video-intel

Hello. Somehow the intel graphics driver crashes and causes the firefox
window to stay on the screen, in a virtual desktop. Otherwise the system
is quite responding. I hope the logs reveal something.

it is in fact the tleds program that causes all my keyboard problems. I

RE: [Bug 414182] Re: On DG45FC system-preferences-sound-hardware profile list incomplete, no analog sound output to choose

2009-08-18 Thread latrom

Now running the latest PPA pulseaudio with the snd_hda_intel msi thing. I will
report if there are any problems. The apport thing didn't like the limited
permissions I gave it and failed and I couldn't run it again.

[Bug 414185] [NEW] flashplugin-nonfree uses OSS instead of ALSA (configured for pulseaudio), blocks all other sound apps

Hello. It seems that for some reason the flash plugin doesn't use ALSA as

it is more like a feature than a bug but I would expect the flashplugin to have
ALSA as default.

[Bug 408025] [NEW] gnuchess doesn't terminate correctly

Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gnuchess

Hello. There is some kind of threading weirdness in the latest karmic
gnuchess

gnuchess 5.07-5.

It is really a quite old bug, you can activate it for example by
starting a game and then resetting it while the opponent (gnuchess) is
thinking. After closing XBoard gnuchess is still in the background
eating 100 % CPU in a uniprocessor system.
