[Bug 738747] Re: soffice.bin crashed with SIGABRT in raise()

2011-03-23 Thread leighman
It's a Microsoft font, which the spreadsheet uses. I thought the missing font
might be causing the problem but it seems unlikely.
Could you try installing libreoffice-dbg then running libreoffice from the
terminal, reproducing the crash and attaching any output here?

[Bug 735921] Re: I Request Compatibility with existing C:\

You need the registry entries which the program installs so only simple
programs can be run from an existing Windows partition.
If you need to, you can copy files from windows into your wine install as
http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1341570 suggests but this is not
supported.

[Bug 591723] Re: Long footnote preview makes compositing crash

2011-03-16 Thread leighman
This seems to be fixed in Natty

** Changed in: openoffice.org (Ubuntu)
   Status: Expired = Confirmed

** Description changed:

  Binary package hint: openoffice.org

Using OpenOffice.org Writer, when I create a footnote which is longer than,
say, three lines and put the cursor over the note number (the one that links to
the footer and is auto-generated into the page), the preview usually doesn't
fit into the screen as it only takes one line (this behavior is filed in Bug
#150937).
If this happens, the compositing will crash on my PC, restarting metacity
with no visual effects at all.

  Steps to reproduce this are:
  1) Create a Writer document and put in the text a loong footnote
  2) Hover the mouse cursor over the note number

I think the problem might be a newer version of python-sip provided by the
Kubuntu ppa.
Are people using that?

[Bug 704700] Re: not all books viewable with Kindle for PC

2011-02-22 Thread leighman
@Brian - what version of wine does it work on in Maverick?
afaik 1.2.2 is backported to Maverick so there isn't any difference in wine
version either.

@Sami - this is possibly a different issue
If you suspect a regression and are able please follow the instructions at
http://wiki.winehq.org/RegressionTesting and report the results here so we can
get a bug reported to the upstream developers
