[Bug 257190] Re: Setting status to 'Hidden' changes status to 'Busy' instead

2010-03-16 Thread leighman
I'm still getting this in Lucid.
Using 'me menu' I set status to 'Invisible' but it displays the 'Busy' icon.
If I then click 'chat accounts', it shows that MSN is set to invisible but
Facebook Chat, Google Talk and the other chat that Empathy sets up are all set
to 'busy'
In my empathy contact list, the status switcher shows 'busy'

[Bug 524709] [NEW] user switcher thing has not appeared on panel

2010-02-19 Thread leighman
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gnome-panel

The FUSA/whatever it is in Karmic does not appear at start-up, and has not done
for the past two boots, but shows a blank space.
This gives no option for shutting down other than the terminal.
The network icon in the systray has also been replaced by the typing-break
timer, which seems to correlate.
Also linked appears to be the fact that for a long time before the desktop
appear, I just see the panels with an 'Unknown Window' in the bottom panel.

[Bug 480191] Re: changing playback speed whilst playing an mp3 locks the whole desktop

2010-01-27 Thread leighman
Using today's build from the daily build ppa no longer locks the system in this
way.
The playback speed can't be changed dynamically using the slider but does work
when set then 'play-at-speed' is pressed.
Don't know if that's the desired behaviour?

[Bug 500123] [NEW] transferring files in Rhythmbox does not stop when device is full

2009-12-24 Thread leighman
Public bug reported:

Transferring a number of tracks to my Creative Zen mp3 player, the memory got
full.
Instead of simply giving a 'Device is full' notification, I was given a pop-up
saying

'LIBMTP_Send_File_From_File_Descriptor(): all device storage is full or
corrupt.'

for each of the hundreds of files it was attempting to transfer and it just
kept trying. Each on also kept shifting my window focus.
Very annoying.
It should have just stopped transferring after the first pop-up.

[Bug 493701] [NEW] Creative Zen MicroPhoto 8GB only works correctly when plugged in with Rhythmbox already running

2009-12-07 Thread leighman
Public bug reported:

If Rhythmbox is running when the Zen is plugged in it will appear correctly in
the sidebar. No desktop icon appears but it is shown in 'lsusb'
If Rhythmbox is not running the desktop icon will appear and a pop-up asking
what to open it with. Choosing 'open in rhythmbox' opens the program but the
Zen is not listed.

Please let me know what other info I can provide

[Bug 493101] [NEW] CD/DVD creator dialog is REALLY unclear for burning an ISO

2009-12-06 Thread leighman
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: nautilus

Sorry, couldn't find any better package to report this against.

1) Insert a blank CD-R and open with CD/DVD Creator as suggested
2) Drag an ISO to the CD
3) Dialog appears asking
Do you want to create a disc from the contents of the image or with the image
file inside?
blah blah
Options: 'Burn as File' or 'Burn contents'

Problem:
I have no idea which means which, and the rest of my family sure as hell
wouldn't

[Bug 313228] Re: a program is still running but i want shut down anyway

2009-11-23 Thread leighman
Can anyone confirm that this has been fixed either by installing one of the
updates today (from Karmic proposed?)
or by doing gconf-editor - apps - indicator-session and setting
suppress_logout_restart_shutdown to true (which turns the shutdown confirmation
off)?
I did one of these and it seems to have fixed it =D

[Bug 481292] Re: often see 'starting/stopping ntp server' note before xsplash

2009-11-13 Thread leighman
I also see notice about 'stopping firestarter firewall', filed as a separate
bug.
Seems to be primarily on logout, going back from desktop to gdm.
It usually flashes too quickly to read properly but I'll have a look this
evening and report back
