[Bug 998435] Re: qemu-kvm-spice doesn't support spice/qxl installs

2012-05-29 Thread lequeux1
Confirmed for winXP guest:
qemu-kvm-spice doesn't support spice/qxl (bugs: 100%CPU, vdservice doesnt
start, no guest screen at boot)

Boris's recipe works ( http://bderzhavets.wordpress.com/2012/05/22/set-
up-qemu-kvm-1-0noroms-as-spice-enabled-qemu-server/)

NB: used guest winXP drivers from spice-guest-tools-0.1.exe (http
://spice-space.org/download/binaries/)

[Bug 643884] [NEW] Lucid: ia32-libs should include libmotif3 libs for ICAclient

2010-09-20 Thread lequeux1
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: ia32-libs

for Lucid 64bits, ia32-libs includes libXm.so version 2 from lesstif libs. This
level (v2) not enough to run Citrix ICAClient.
If ia32-libs included libraries from libmotif3, that would ease ICA installs.
Note libmotif3 is included in Lucid, but for 32bits only.

Other ref (including solution):

[Bug 575070] Re: Lucid: domainjoin-cli fails error LW_ERROR_ENUM_DOMAIN_TRUSTS_FAILED

2010-07-15 Thread lequeux1
I confirm Chorca's input:
 * works w/ likewise-open 6.0.0, not w/ 5.4 (either from Ubuntu repositories,
or PPA likewise open) -> domainjoin & AD authent now work
 * This using same config. (Karmic 64bits)

-> LO Ubuntu: Pl. would you propose LW 6.0.0 for Karmic ? (at least in
backports)

(& Thnx Chorca)

[Bug 578930] [NEW] Lucid qemu-kvm: ksmd default config is CPU hog

2010-05-11 Thread lequeux1
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: qemu-kvm

Lucid 64 bits

Expected: have qemu-kvm propose adquate default values
Found: using kvm, running 2 VMs , ksmd constantly eats 20 to 30%CPU

Lucid script used to tune ksm (/etc/init.d/qemu-kvm , parms in /etc/init
/qemu-kvm.conf) doesnt provides adequate values IMHO

-> Suggest modify qemu-kvm.conf
 either to deactivate ksm
 or have 200 for SLEEP_MILLISECONDS

Similar issue found on proxmox (debian) proposing default values:

[Bug 497299] Re: upstart not starting init-scripts (event net-device-up IFACE=lo missing)

2009-12-21 Thread lequeux1
Fails here also. I downgraded upstart to to 0.6.3-10, works again now.
Using Karmic 32bits/PAE

my /etc/network/interfaces (which looks me correct) below:
---
auto lo
iface lo inet loopback

iface eth0
 pre-up /usr/sbin/ethtool -s eth0 advertise 0x02b

[Bug 238684] Re: [patch?] alt-gr does not work inside kvm debian terminal

2009-09-14 Thread lequeux1
... Maybe, but:
 * vinagre, vncviewer, virt-viewer, all use alt-gr.
 * directvnc fails to connect kvm local domains
 * if this patch doesnt make sense, why is it integrated in jaunty qemu ( but
not in kvm ) package ?
 * Really annoying for a french user (and probably other non US users, too).
with no { [ @ \ # ~ | ] } life is so complicated...

[Bug 428082] [NEW] Kernel 2.6.28-13 exposes interface causing libvirt to provide bad arguments to kvm and lock up win32 guest

2009-09-11 Thread lequeux1
Public bug reported:

In Jaunty, using kernels 2.6.28-13 and up (all), win32 guest lock up at
boot.

This fully described at
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=510695 . RedHat is upstream,
and apparently won't fix.

A working bypass is described at
http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1203555. Would it be possible
to include in libvirt ?

[Bug 238684] Re: [patch?] alt-gr does not work inside kvm debian terminal

2009-09-11 Thread lequeux1
Patch cited in #12 was also integrated in Jaunty's qemu, but not kvm.

A more complete version is available in http://patches.ubuntu.com/by-
release/ubuntu/k/kvm/kvm_1:84+dfsg-0ubuntu10.slipped-patch (look for
altgr-dead-keys-vnc.diff); Works for me.
