[Bug 975134] Re: Gnome Panels visible in fullscreen flash

2012-04-18 Thread lispy
Turning of the "Place Window" Addin in Compiz fixes the behaviour. I
assume it would work to add Flash to the fixed list in Compiz Settings
but I have no idea how to extract the window from Firefox as flash it´s
wrapped. Any ideas?

[Bug 568779] Re: [i855] 10.04 rc boots into black/blank screen

2010-05-07 Thread lispy
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 541511 ***
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/541511

Installed mainline kernels last night and it fixed all my issues.
ureadahead now crashes during boot but I´m not sure it´s related and
it´s defininetly no showstopper. I have composite back and Flash is
really smooth, too.

Elena, do you have 3D acceleration? I see you turned modesetting off,
this caused the loss of 3D on my end.

Hi Bryce,
thanks for the insight.

Just to let you know, it was working fine back then. So there was no
need to complain.

Re: [Bug 568779] Re: 10.04 rc livecd boots into black/blank screen (intel 82852/855GM graphic card)

2010-04-29 Thread lispy
It is critical. People have a bricked laptop after the update. That´s
the worst case scenario. Another console aware friend even called me
since switchting to the terminal didn´t work as well and he´s a unix
guy and had never heard of ubuntus safemode. It´s really pretty bad.
Lucid is an aweseom release but this bug is a showstopper imho.

Let´s keep the fingers crossed someone has the balls to delay it. But
I doubt it.

Hi everybody. Just wanted to let you know that todays patch didn't
improve the situation on my girlfriends 7010d. btw: lspci says it's the
dreaded 855GM chipset. Any advice on how I could improve the experience
for her or get back 3D?

2010-04-25 Thread lispy
I can confirm this bug on my girlfriends Fujistu Lifebook 7010d. I also
upgraded her yesterday. Right now I have her on the generic driver which
obviously breaks 3D for her. Is there already a solution or a workaround
or will I have to reinstall for her from scratch? Obviously there is
something weird going on during upgrade, anyone with more insight have
an idea where to start looking? What logs would be helpful?

[Bug 342923] Re: Kubuntu Jaunty Intel 945 GM - Poor sluggish graphics performance on HP/Compaq nc6400 laptop

2009-03-31 Thread lispy
Yup. Can confirm this. It's sluggish on my Dell M1330 intel965. I also
enabled UXA. Intrepid was really good. EXA is really slow whereas UXA is
okayish but give weird effects with compiz light slow fading out.

For brown:
In a terminal type:
sudo gedit /etc/X11/xorg.conf
change the line that reads:
Option "AccelMethod" "EXA"
to
Option "AccelMethod" "UXA" and reboot.

Good luck and don't expect too much!
