[Bug 396564] Re: karmic alpha: grub2 shows 'biosdisk read error', then boots

2009-10-10 Thread lokad
Same here with Karmic beta i386
boot on raid1 (md0)
lvm on raid0 (md1) containing root, home, swap

Several seconds "Grub loading.", then "error: biosdisk read error". A
menu is displayed though.

[Bug 444562] Re: grub-pc lpia instantly reboots netbook

2009-10-10 Thread lokad
If it is relevant: My system is asus eee 1000h with intel atom n270 with
hyperthreading (cpuinfo attached).

If there is other information I should provide or things I can do and
test I would be happy to do so.

[Bug 425359] Re: grub2 hangs on eeepc 1101ha

2009-10-10 Thread lokad
Have you tried grub i386 packages? I experience another problem with
grub2 on my asus eee 1000h
(https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/grub2/+bug/444562) - here
i386 packages work fine but lpia packages don't.

Just rechecked with latest (1.97~beta3-1ubuntu8) - nothing changed. The
i386 version works, lpia not.

[Bug 278193] Re: conduit crashed when trying to log into Box.net

[Bug 278193] Re: conduit crashed when trying to log into Box.net

2009-10-06 Thread lokad
With Karmic the problem still persists:

- Add "Files and Folders/Box.net"
- Add "Files and Folders/Folder"
- Select "Synchronization Options/Two-Way Synchronisation"
- Change folder to something meaningful (it pointed to /home/$user)
- Try to change Box.Net Folder

Now a browser window for Box.net login pops up but hangs. Finally
conduit dies with sigill. A log of conduit --debug is appended.

[Bug 444562] [NEW] grub-pc lpia instantly reboots netbook

2009-10-06 Thread lokad
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: grub2

1) Release
Description:Ubuntu karmic (development branch)
Release:9.10

2) Package version
grub-pc:
  Installiert: 1.97~beta3-1ubuntu7
But earlyer versions were also affected.

3) What should happen
grub-pc should load the menu specified in grub.cfg and let me boot my netbook.

4) What happens
grub-pc shows "GRUB loading" for the fraction of a second, then my netbook
reboots.

This does not happen with forcibly installed i386 packages (several
tested from debian lenny/sid and ubuntu karmic) but only with lpia
packages.

[Bug 302570] Re: g-p-m doesn't save charge and discharge profiles

2009-03-23 Thread lokad
I am using current Ubuntu Jaunty (as of Mar 24) with gnome-power-manager
2.24.2-2ubuntu7 and still experience this bug.

eee:~$ LC_ALL=C ls -l .gnome2/gnome-power-manager/
total 192
-rw-r--r-- 1 rene rene 890 Mar 19 23:00 profile-1000H-47599-charging.csv
-rw-r--r-- 1 rene rene 890 Mar 19 23:00 profile-1000H-47599-discharging.csv
-rw-r--r-- 1 rene rene 890 Mar 21 03:59 profile-1000H-47678-charging.csv
-rw-r--r-- 1 rene rene 890 Mar 21 03:59 profile-1000H-47678-discharging.csv
[...]

The battery runtime is unpredictable.

The bug is fixed upstream but will this fix make it into Jaunty?

[Bug 256777] Re: POP server port setting is missing, setting other port then 25 not possible

2008-11-13 Thread lokad
Just in case anybody comes here again:

Go to

Edit > Preferences > Mail Accounts > [select your account] > Edit >
Receiving Email

Here, under the title Configuration, you can specify the

Server: pop.myprovider.tld[:port]

where port defaults to 25.

But this should be mentioned in a tooltip or in the help or something
like that.
