[Bug 1772677] Re: gnome-shell filling up syslog with thousands of entries with stack traces ending in osdWindow.js (lines 206/207 in bionic, lines 223/224 in cosmic)
I'm experiencing this same issue as well. Syslog grew to >100GB overnight. My configuration: - Fresh install of Ubuntu 18.04.1 - HP z800 workstation with 2x Xeon X5680 - NVidia GTX 1070 Ti w/ 3 screens attached I need to stick with LTS releases but if there is a way to install a particular version of gnome-shell with the bug addressed I'd be happy to give it a try. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1772677 Title: gnome-shell filling up syslog with thousands of entries with stack traces ending in osdWindow.js (lines 206/207 in bionic, lines 223/224 in cosmic) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-shell/+bug/1772677/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 398157] [NEW] Feature request: option to change the local display name of a folder without renaming the folder on a server
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: evolution Unless I missed something, it is currently not possible to change the display name of an IMAP folder without renaming the folder on the server. But IMHO, this is an increasingly important feature. The rational behind this request is more or less the same than for the http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=206061: interoperability. More and more people need to be able to check their emails from different computers, and the use of webmail is becoming wide-spread. But those interfaces don't let you the choice of how to name the main folders (inbox, sent, trash, etc.). For example, with my ISP I have: - INBOX - DRAFT - OUTBOX - QUARANTINE - TRASH and I would like to see: - Inbox - Draft - Sent - Junk - Trash but renaming the folders breaks the webmail interface. The issue is even more annoying when you want to set up a system in a different language... Beside the fact that upper-case names are ugly, I don't think that my grand-mother should have to learn what OUTBOX and QUARANTINE mean in French! It would be great if it was possible to change the display name in the properties of the folder. This would allow Evolution to play nicely with other clients, and specially webmail interfaces, on which we have very little control (that and an official alternative to the trash and junk vfolders would be much appreciated). $ lsb_release -rd Description:Ubuntu 9.04 Release:9.04 $ apt-cache policy evolution evolution: Installed: 2.26.1-0ubuntu2 Candidate: 2.26.1-0ubuntu2 Version table: *** 2.26.1-0ubuntu2 0 500 http://ubuntu-archive.mirrors.proxad.net jaunty-updates/main Packages 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status 2.26.1-0ubuntu1 0 500 http://ubuntu-archive.mirrors.proxad.net jaunty/main Packages ** Affects: evolution (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Description changed: Binary package hint: evolution Unless I missed something, it is currently not possible to change the display name of an IMAP folder without renaming the folder on the server. ** Description changed: The package g++-4.1 depends on libstdc++6-4.1-dev, but libstdc++6-4.1-dev depends on g++-4.1.
