Ok, that's right. I don't have any Feisty so I can't really help you to retrieve the info you would need. In Gutsy it isn't happening, so maybe it has been already fixed. [Bug 104411] Re: Adept notifer should use KNotify to notify updates
Yes, it shows an icon in the system tray, but my idea is that a notification popup message should appear on screen, and of course this behaviour would be customizable through the system notifies module in kcontrol or systemsettings, the same way as knetworkmanager does, for example. I think it would be nice to have this message showing when new updates are found, and of course you would be able to deactivate it in order to make the notifier less intrusive. Showing the message means that you can make ktts read it, for example. -- Adept notifer should use KNotify to notify updates https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/104411 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kubuntu Team, which is a bug contact for adept in ubuntu. -- kubuntu-bugs mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/kubuntu-bugs
[Bug 118474] Adept should allow to ignore updates
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: adept Adept doesn't provide functionality to avoid an specific package from being upgraded, this action is supported for example in Synaptic. It would be a useful feature because adept_notifier keeps notifying about updates the user doesn't want to apply, which is quite annoying. ** Affects: adept (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Unconfirmed -- Adept should allow to ignore updates https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/118474 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 104411] Adept notifer should use KNotify to notify updates
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: adept If I'm not wrong, Ubuntu's update notifier shows popups when there are new updates to packages avalaible. I think that adept_notifier could use KNotify to inform the user about package updates. Its behavior would be easy to configure using the KControl notifications module, so it would be as intrusive as you liked. ** Affects: adept (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Unconfirmed -- Adept notifer should use KNotify to notify updates https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/104411 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 96003] SDP daemon not found
Public bug reported: Using a fully upgraded Kubuntu Fiesty Fawn, when logging into KDE, KBluetoothD pops up and says that it wasn't able to find sdpd so no bluetooth devices will be able to detect the bluetooth services running in my computer. Checking the installed files by package bluez-utils I realized that this package no longer installs the file /usr/sbin/sdpd, as it did in Edgy. [Bug 34821] Re: No usplash on shutdown with kdm
Well I have the same problem here, using Kubuntu 6.10 with KDE 3.5.6. Usplash show for a fraction of a second and then dissapears and the screen goes black. I have the "TerminateServer=True" line in my kdmrc file (to solve a problem with logout related to ATI fglrx drivers) and usplash still doesn't work.
