Re: [Bug 760656] [NEW] Launcher: Background lighting and border is displayed for Workspaces, Apps, Files, Trash (should be turned off)

2011-04-19 Thread Da Masta
From what I understand, each shade or glow corresponds to a status like
running or nit running. If a user could become esily confused weather an
application is open or not. Personally, that would drive me crazy.

I think icon changes should be fixed ASAP.

The 'workspaces-switcher', 'apps', 'files' and 'user-trash/user-trash-

 the running applications.

A border is also drawn around these 4 icons

Ideally the glow and the border should be switched off for the four
 monochrome built-in icons.

[Bug 707623] Re: ACER 3810tz - no sound speakers and head

2011-01-25 Thread Da Masta
Sounds like driver problems... If your hardware model is the ACER 3810tz
you should look in to mannually re-installing your drivers directly from
ACER... or a repair disk. NOTE: Only use drivers specific to your model,
or ones that you are sure will cope with your system.

I've looked into the certified Realtek drivers for your model. Your driver is:
ALC269
The driver is not Ubuntu-friendly.
Try running the command alsamixer and setting all the channels to maximum
volume.

[Bug 570042] [NEW] can't adjust the brightness of my laptop display

2010-04-26 Thread masta
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: acpi-support

This is probably an acpi-support bug, but I'm not definitely sure.
The hotkeys on my Asus UL20A worked perfectly on Karmic, however in Lucid the
brightness setting keys do not anymore. The notification bubble appears but
nothing happens. What's more, when I hit the key several times, it doesn't
react immediately, but the notifications reappear one after another in
approximately 30 seconds intervals. During this time, none of the other hotkeys
work (standard keys do). Well, hotkeys do as well, but the action is processed
after all of the brightness notifications.

[Bug 53847] Bug on APT configuration during installation

2006-07-23 Thread masta
Public bug reported:

This bug happened during the installation of Dapper.

I have to mention that on a really rare situation, the ubuntu.com
servers where down while I was trying to install my system.

On the right moment the installer where trying to configure the apt
sources, it failed because of the servers on its downtime. Given that
situation, i tried over and over again to configure the sources each
time it failed, suddenly I tried to see what happened to ubuntu.com and
confirmed the servers where down.

THE BUG IS:
I confirmed that every time I tried to configure the sources and failed, the
installer porcess added some extra lines on sources.list. Those lines where
added to the file instead of overwrite it entirely or just leave it alone.

That situation got me to a really messy situation when I tried to use
apt-get update because it alerted me about the duplication of packages
sources uris on sources.list.

I hope you can fix this issue, good luck on this, you are making a great distro.

PD: I'm writing from Chile and my english it's not so fluid, sorry about
that.
