[Bug 678405] [NEW] ember crashes in lucid due to missing ogre-plugins-cgprogrammanager package

2010-11-21 Thread matangdilis
Public bug reported:

world then it dies with the trace:

It appears that ogre-plugins-cgprogrammanager is only available in Maverick. My
solution is to download the package from here: http://www.cazfi.net/deb/lucid/ .

A site suggested using Andrew Fenn's ppa at
https://launchpad.net/~andrewfenn/+archive/ogredev, but I could not find
the package there.

The specs for the box above is an amd II x4 with nvidia 9500 gt graphic
card. It's running amd64 lucid.

After installing the ogre-plugins-cgprogrammanager ember worked. I made
the dependency problem upstream here:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ember/+bug/678034.

Erik Hjortsberg suggested to upgrade to upstream as quoted here:

"These issues have been fixed in Ember 0.5.8 (i.e. it crashing when Cg
isn't available). I actually didn't know that we had Ubuntu packages out
there. Is this part of the community Ubuntu packages? The best fix would
probably be to upgrade the package to the recently released 0.6.0
version."

[Bug 361693] Re: Aiptek tablet only registers as a mouse in /dev/input

2010-09-12 Thread matangdilis
I have tried hva's solution documented in the community documentation
here:
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/AiptekTablet?highlight=%28%28AiptekTablet%29%29
for the Genius G-Pen 560. It appears that there is No need to issue
xinput commands unless you want to remap the buttons. All the buttons
seem to work with only the conf and rules files scripted.

I simply copied them except for setting zMax to 1024 for the gpen 560.
See here to download the configuration files needed:
http://matangdilis.blogspot.com/2010/09/genius-g-pen-560-for-ubuntu-
lucid.html .

Please confirm if this bug is already solved, perhaps the community
documentation can be updated regarding button mappings. Thanks to hva
for the solution.

2010-06-10 Thread matangdilis
Public bug reported:

Something weird happened to my machine after upgrading to kernel

disc still spinning. It happened twice already and the first time the

[Bug 300829] Re: gnuplot freezes if the wx terminal is used

2010-04-01 Thread matangdilis
It affected my desktop with nvidia graphics card but not my laptop with
intel graphics. Both machines use Karmic amd64 bit and gnome desktop.
I will try some of the work arounds in the desktop later.

The gnuplot gui freezes and can't even be closed. None of the menus work
in the nvidia desktop. The nvidia uses proprietary drivers with dri
enabled.

[Bug 426417] Re: broken menus at Ubuntu Linux 9.04/9.10 with intel-2.8.1/2.9

2009-12-20 Thread matangdilis
It worked on a Toshiba Sattelite with Intel GM965 video and running on
a Karmic AMD64. Thanks Davidiam.

But when I tried to change the location and clicked on the Country
dropdown menu in the location dialog box, my system froze (keyboard,
pad, and usb mouse didn't respond 8-o) and I have to do a hard power
down. Hopefully it's unrelated. I managed to change the location via
search box.

Same problem with menus and dialog with Toshiba satellite laptop, with
