[Bug 242431] [NEW] gnutls_check_version() does not support multiple versions

2008-06-23 Thread matt felser
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gnutls-bin

I installed libgnutls26 (2.2.1) from the Debian testing repository, as I
needed to use mod_gnutls for Apache. Dependencies required me to keep
libgnutls13 (2.0.4) installed as well. When I tried to restart Apache,
I was given an error stating:

gnutls_check_version() failed. Required: gnutls-2.2.1 Found: gnutls-2.0.4
Pre-configuration failed

The function either detected the older version and failed immediately or
it failed to detect the newer version.

Currently, I cannot start Apache while using mod_gnutls. Is there a
workaround to bypass this check, or could someone correct it?

I use Thunderbird and I am experiencing similar issues. Is there a

Is it the mail clients' problem or OpenOffice.org's?

[Bug 185190] Re: City (Pittsburgh) Associated w/ Wrong Timezone

2008-03-12 Thread matt felser
There is no database used for timezone mapping. There is a file called
Locations.xml in libgweather that gives coordinates (among other things)
for all locations. Somewhere, the coordinates are parsed incorrectly
and mapped to the wrong timezones.

[Bug 185190] Re: City (Pittsburgh) Associated w/ Wrong Timezone

2008-02-17 Thread matt felser
Thanks. I examined the XML file and nothing is out of order there. The
latitude/longitude, IWIN, forecast, and radar codes are all correct. It
seems that the problem is in the gnome-panel package, and not
libgweather or gnome-applets.

I do not see where the time zone is generated from. If it is parsed
from the coordinates, then they issue may lie in that algorithm.

[Bug 112011] System Crashes on Underlining Misspelled Words

2007-05-03 Thread matt felser
Public bug reported:

EDIT: Whoops...I probably should have mentioned I'm using the very
initial release of Gutsy

Binary package hint: openoffice.org

Whenever I type two or more characters and Writer cannot identify a
word, I get the following error:

/usr/lib/openoffice/program/soffice.bin: symbol lookup error:
/usr/lib/openoffice/program/libspell680li.so: undefined symbol:
_ZN8Hunspell5spellEPKc

And the program exits immediatelyIt seems like its just a reference
problem.

[Bug 94287] OpenOffice icon issues

2007-03-20 Thread matt felser
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: openoffice.org-writer

After increasing my screen resolution to 1280x1024, I found that some
icons in OpenOffice Writer (as well as the other OpenOffice programs)
are very difficult to read. The blurry icons are generally ones with
small text. These include Spellcheck (the ABC is very condensed) and
un/ordered list (the numbers and bullets are indistinguishable). I may
be nitpicking, but this interface would not be very friendly for a
first-time user.

I would also recommend altering the Navigator, Show Draw Functions, and
Datasources icons. Currently, it is difficult to determine what the
buttons do without mousing over them.

I may have attributed this to the wrong package...

Assuming you are using XGL, this is a known error. However, there is a

Your startxgl.sh file should be as follows:

#!/bin/sh
Xgl -fullscreen :1 -ac -br -accel glx:pbuffer -accel xv:pbuffer &
sleep 4
export DISPLAY=:1
cookie="$(xauth -i nextract - :0 | cut -d ' ' -f 9)"

[Bug 94254] Restarting X Hangs

2007-03-20 Thread matt felser
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: xserver-xorg

Whenever I press Ctrl-Alt-Backspace to restart X, the reset hangs after
the following line:

"Running local boot scripts (/etc/rc.local)"

This part executes successfully (or atleast is marked with an OK), but
no processes appear afterwards. What should the next line be? Even
after waiting for an extended period of time, no new process appeared.
This has been the case for the last two or three versions of X.

Everything works fine when booting the system. The error only occurs
when restarting X. However, I am able to get into a terminal to
manually start it.

4th install- Same error as above
- 5th install- I am very disappointed with the partitioner. It doesn't
announce errors until it is too late and it is difficult to create logical
partitions. I believe that I have isolated the error. It occurred whenever I
tried to format a drive to ext3 even though it was the drive's current
filesystem.

+ 12th install- Finally, I have figured out what is wrong. I had some of
