Bug 919377 is not my issue, though I have also done the same thing: added 2
gtalk accounts. For me empathy crashes. The window is no more there and apport
window comes up. Here is a sequence of screenshots that show apport coming up
after enabling the new account and empathy window disappears.

I'm back on Ubuntu 12.04. Here's the mission control log I got from the
debug window, after clearing the window and adding the 2nd gtalk
account. Empathy still crashes. I have version 3.4.2.3 now. Also, the
'Edit Custom Messages...' window is blank.

[Bug 1006227] Re: empathy crashes on adding another gtalk account

2012-06-11 Thread melrokz
My best guess is that I have contact groups in both accounts and it
crashes when it loads BOTH accounts with the SAME contact groups, but
different contacts.

To reproduce:

1. Add a google talk account.
2. Group your contacts: Friends, Family, Work.
3. Disable the account.
4. Add a second google talk account.
5. Group your contacts: Friends, Family, Work.
6. Now enable the first account also.
7. Crash!

There is a workaround, it allows me to work till the next suspend, lol:

2012-05-13 Thread melrokz
Sorry, folks...
Seems a duplicate of the bug
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/software-center/+bug/782953

Though I didn't understand - 'until update-apt-xapian-index is ran by
cron'

When I add a PPA, it does not update it's info to include the PPA
packages.

** Summary changed:

[Bug 997051] [NEW] sotware center does not update package list

2012-05-09 Thread melrokz
Public bug reported:

Please add a reload button to update the software cache each time I add a new
repository. Well. newer users of Ubuntu may not add a PPA due to security
concerns or because they won't know how to, but the older ones would take a
backup and risk experimenting with their OS. I don't know why the software
center does not reload even though I saw a bug that this was fixed in version
1.1 itself. I use Ubuntu Precise.
Why not add a button saying 'reload' or a menu option, 'Update software list'?
It would be very helpful if the aim is to make a fully functinal GUI. Why would
I go back to the command line after choosing to use the GUI software center?

[Bug 992617] [NEW] Drag and drop to upload box not working

2012-05-01 Thread melrokz
Public bug reported:

It's related to Unity 3D. Firefox and Nautilus are open. I opened my
Pictures folder and tried to drag and drop a pic onto a mediafire.com
upload area. I dragged the pic to the FF icon on the launcher, but FF
did not open... When I dropped it on the FF icon, it opened in a new
tab. I expected FF to open when hovering on it's icon on the launcher.
Only then can I drop the pic on the upload box.

[Bug 949692] Re: Empathy cannot be resized to a smaller width.

2012-03-09 Thread melrokz
Reproducing is easy.

1. launch Empathy.
2. Try to reduce the width of the window.

I'll attach a screenshot of empathy in Ubuntu 11.04 and you'll see the
difference.

** Attachment added: "This is the minimum width of empathy in Ubuntu 11.04."

When I try to browse files on the Wave 575, nothing happens.

To reproduce,

1. Click the Bluetooth icon

returns an error [on the phone] "Sending failed"

[Bug 946145] [NEW] Synaptic's menu is still at the old position.

2012-03-04 Thread melrokz
Public bug reported:

Aesthetic bug.

I installed Synaptic through the provided repos. I see that it's menus
do not appear in the Unity bar at the top. (What do I call that bar?)

Synaptic is still very useful and important for long time users of
Ubuntu. I prefer it over the slow Software Center.

[Bug 946142] [NEW] Last message after installation lacks background

2012-03-03 Thread melrokz
Public bug reported:

Aesthetics bug? I'm not sure if this affects Ubiquity or is a general
bug?

The last message after installation using the 'Install Ubuntu' link, as all of
you know, is 'Please remove installation media and close the tray (if any)'.
This screen lacks a background/background color. A purple background was
present in previous versions.
As in the screenshot, some terminal output is also seen.

there is 3.2.0. So you have a PPA for installing it?

[Bug 925365] [NEW] Custom messages cannot be edited in Empathy.

2012-02-02 Thread melrokz
Public bug reported:

Launch Empathy after adding an account > Click 'Available' > Select
'(Away symbol) Custom message...' > Type your message > Click the drop
down arrow > select 'Edit Custom messages...'

Then, I just get a blank window, no custom messages are there.

Ubuntu 11.10, GNOME 3, Cinnamon desktop shell,

Also, I notice that when a new notification happens, the empathy tray
icon blinks. When that happens, an 'icon missing' symbol appears. (in
the Cinnamon panel)

[Bug 811532] Re: DSL Dialer: Network applet shows 'device not managed'

2011-08-04 Thread melrokz
Thank you, Matheiu!

Yes, I'll contact BSNL. It is an issue with the link to the BSNL server as
often happens in Windows as:
" Link to BSNL failed"

[Bug 811532] Re: eth0 missing! Network applet shows 'device not managed'

2011-08-04 Thread melrokz
I think this bug needs to be reopened... with more info.
The broadband link to my ISP, BSNL, is not stable. It fails often and when it
does so, the dialer in Win XP shows me

'Link to BSNL failed'

Looks like this is the time when Network Manager in Ubuntu shows

'device not managed'

Attached is today's syslog of the incident...

** Attachment added: "syslog"
