[Bug 497540] [NEW] hotkey XF86Mail resp. (Lauch Mail) not working

2009-12-16 Thread menschmeier
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: kdebase-workspace

Release: Kubuntu 9.10 Karmic Koala
Version: KDE 4.3.2
Expecting: assingning key XF86Mail to program kontact
Happening instead:
I assigned in KDE Menu Editor the key XF86Mail to the menu entry Kontact.
During the assignment I have to press the key which is recognized and displayed
as Lauch Mail. After saving the the setting I tried to start kontact using
this key but nothing happend.

I used the program xev to find out some details about the hotkey:

KeyPress event, serial 31, synthetic NO, window 0x541,
root 0x10b, subw 0x542, time 1899561, (31,35), root:(35,60),
state 0x10, keycode 223 (keysym 0x1008ff19, XF86Mail), same_screen YES,
XKeysymToKeycode returns keycode: 163
XLookupString gives 0 bytes:
XmbLookupString gives 0 bytes:
XFilterEvent returns: False

Other hotkeys, e.g. for starting the browser (XF86WWW) are working.

[Bug 493718] [NEW] k3b does not see/use alternative programs ins /opt/schily/bin

2009-12-07 Thread menschmeier
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: k3b

Iam unsing Kubuntu 9.10 64bit and k3b 1.68.0

Because I have problem with wodim, I installed the genuine version of cdrecord
from cdrecord.berlios.de.
cdrecord was installed in /opt/schily/bin. This directory is part of the search
part (in k3b setting, programs) but k3b does not see the executables. So I can
not switch from wodim to cdrecord.

The Problem occures in Kubuntu 9.10 again. Other hotkeys like 'internet'
are recognized and do what I have configured, e.g. start firefox.

[Bug 481536] [NEW] k3b fails to burn larger dvd images (about 4gb) when using wodim

2009-11-12 Thread menschmeier
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: k3b

k3b fails to burn a larger DVD image (about 4 GB). Burning a 600 MB
image to a DVD was successful.

The difference is the usage of wodim. Burning the smaller image does not
use wodim.

I used the same rewritable medium for both cases.

Here is the output when k3b fails the 4 GB iso image:
