2011-07-01 Thread mikemowgli
ubuntu natty 11.04 i386, thunderbird 3.1.10, bug still here.
Can the team explain us its policy in terms of long-term unsolved bugs? or does
nobody cares at all??

[Bug 224216] [NEW] DBUS_SESSION_BUS_ADDRESS empty when booting on KDE

2008-04-29 Thread mikemowgli
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: dbus

I recently upgrade to Hardy Heron.
I have Ubuntu, not Kubuntu, but I always use KDE 3.5.9.
Since, I've got an error launching banshee. It tell the dbus environment is not
properly set.
env | grep -i dbus
returns nothing.

So, no DBUS_SESSION_BUS_ADDRESS is set (but the dbus daemon is running).
In order to avoid the banshee/dbus error, I need to do:
dbus-launch banshee

OR

dbus-launch --auto-syntax
export DBUS_SESSION_BUS_ADDRESS='blablabla'
banshee

and then it works well.

OR

disconnect from KDE and start GNOME.
Indeed, doing env | grep -i dbus under gnome returns the correct
DBUS_SESSION_BUS_ADDRESS variable.

So, the brand new Hardy Heron environment is properly set for gnome but
not for kde.

Note that all packages on my system come from official repositories.

Hope this is clear enough.

Tell me if anything is necessary

I don't wanna use amarok! :-)

** Affects: dbus (Ubuntu)
 Importance: Undecided
 Status: New
