[Bug 73141] Re: grub should support dmraid fakeraids

2008-05-19 Thread mobiusNZ
Grub supports fakeraid fine - you just need to teach it a little.

From the grub prompt, run

device (hd0) /dev/mapper/[the_raid_entry]

Then find /boot/grub/stage1 as normal.

Could the update script not do this?

[Bug 181419] Middle click in Konqueror opens new Dolphin window

2008-01-08 Thread mobiusNZ
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: konqueror

When Dolphin is set as default file manager (as in 7.10), left-clicking
(or double-left-clicking, depending on your preferences) on a folder
opens it inside the Konqueror window as expected. However, middle-
clicking on a folder opens it in new Dolphin window, instead of in a new
Konqueror tab as expected.

A discussion on this is here:

[Bug 160067] Re: Raw HTML tags show in Dolphin status bar

2007-12-05 Thread mobiusNZ
I agree, but we'd want to get rid of the tags. It wouldn't hurt even if
it affects konqueror - it would bring it in line with the rest of the
protocol's formatting.

[Bug 164922] Dolphin/Konqueror crash with folder full of pdfs

2007-11-24 Thread mobiusNZ
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: kdebase

I have a folder with about 40 pdfs in it, ranging from 360K to 25M in size
(they are architects plans, so rather large). Whenever I browse to this folder
using either Dolphin or Konqueror, as soon as I put the mouse in the main
window where the file listings are, it crashes.
I'm not sure if this is useful, but here is the backtrace I get (I took out
most of the no debugging symbols found bits):

I've also noticed that KPDF comes up with a blank page when I try and

with it?

[Bug 160067] Raw HTML tags show in Dolphin status bar

2007-11-04 Thread mobiusNZ
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: dolphin

Dolphin Version: 0.9.2-0ubuntu2

The status bar sometimes shows raw HTML tags rather than applying them.

Eg, if I open up dolphin and type sftp://example.org; (replace
example.org with your own sftp site), while the login screen is showing,
dolphin's status bar reads Opening SFTP connection to host
bexample.org:22/b

[Bug 160067] Re: Raw HTML tags show in Dolphin status bar

2007-11-04 Thread mobiusNZ
Yes, it appears the sftp:/ sequence is the only one which attempts to
format the status text... fish:/ and ftp:/ only say Connecting... with
no bold bits anywhere.

Konqueror shows the host in sftp:/ in bold as expected, and in fish:/
and ftp:/ just says Connecting... like Dolphin.

[Bug 156171] Kaffeine can no longer load dvd iso if path has spaces

2007-10-23 Thread mobiusNZ
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: libdvdread3

Under Feisty, I could play a dvd iso in Kaffeine by running the command
kaffeine dvd:///path/to/iso
This would work regardless of whether there were any spaces in the path.

After upgrading to Gutsy, I can no longer do this if there are spaces in
the path. Eg if I tried to open /path/with some/spaces.iso, I get an
error saying

libdvdread: Can't stat /path/with%20some/spaces.iso

I have tried using quotes as before, and also escaping the space with \

What's the status on this issue? I'm still finding it with 7.10 final.

username)

[Bug 57041] Re: no buffer space available

2007-07-02 Thread mobiusNZ
I also have this problem, quite randomly it seems. I get up to Loading
hardware drivers... and sometimes it will hang, with the message Error
receiving uevent message: no buffer space available. At this point I
have to hold down the power button on my laptop and try again.

Other times it boots up fine... very odd. I also have to include kernel
switches noapic irqpoll for anything to happen at all.
Laptop is a Compaq presario V6302AU (V6000), AMD64 architecture, and it has a
broadcom wireless card.

Running Kubuntu with Ubuntu kernel 2.6.20-16-generic.

Anyone have any ideas? I *think* it may be related to the kernel
switches, and the kernel not playing nicely with my bios, or something
:S
