[Bug 1954554] Re: nbd.ko missing in impish raspi kernel

2021-12-10 Thread mog
Ok nevermind I found other issue explaining I need to install apt-get
install linux-modules-extra-raspi.

nbd.ko is found on packages.ubuntu.com also when filtering correctly
https://packages.ubuntu.com/search?suite=impish&arch=any&mode=exactfilename&searchon=contents&keywords=nbd.ko

nbd is not a commonly used module so I have no problem that it's in -extras.
Can close. Thanks

[Bug 1954554] [NEW] nbd.ko missing in impish raspi kernel

2021-12-10 Thread mog
Public bug reported:

When running systemctl status nbd@nbd0 it fails with error per systemctl
status nbd@nbd0:

nbd_client[2044]: Couldn't resolve the nbd netlink family, make sure the nbd
module is loaded and your nbd driver supports the netlink interface.
nbd_client[2044]: Exiting.

For context I am using nbd-client package which include systemctl
wrapper to use nbd-client to create /dev/nbd0 remote block device.

Seems kernel/drivers/block/nbd.ko is missing in linux-
modules-5.13.0-1011-raspi. It was available in Ubuntu 21.04 but
missing/not working after upgrade to Ubuntu 21.10

** Affects: linux-raspi (Ubuntu)

[Bug 789453] Re: Update Manager gives error, all sorts of programs are broken

2011-07-07 Thread mog
Yes - the duplicate ticket #770059 I found mentioned it. It was not easy
but i eventually managed to get apt-get dist-upgrade to not complain
while having natty in sources.list by uninstalling xorg from linux
console. And then do-release-upgrade completed.

Didn't find any other easy way to remove/downgrade the packages. It was
the xorg-edgers ppa.

Some googling turned up this bug in upstream.

http://www.mail-archive.com/[EMAIL PROTECTED]/msg02000.html

Ubuntu uses parted 1.7.1-5.1ubuntu9 but the latest version available is
1.8.8

>From the NEWS file from the parted website
website: http://www.gnu.org/software/parted/index.shtml
NEWS:
http://git.debian.org/?p=parted/parted.git;a=blob_plain;f=NEWS;hb=b738e95f6ec53af66c02c4f6dcefa22cbfb1eca1

News newer than 1.8.0 have been .

1.8.0
=

libparted:
* GPT fixes:
 - Correctly handle disks with non-512 byte sector sizes
 - Support LUN resizing (see new space, allow parted to use it)
 - Prevent overlap of LastUsableLBA and PartitionEntryLBA in backup GPT

I will try 1.8.8 and see if it helps.

Hello. I have also just resized a RAID volume and too experienced this
problem.

Reading through the debian bugreport ExplodingLemur posted it seems that
it's fixed in latest gparted version.

Here is the output of parted:

[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~# parted /dev/sdb

[Bug 86685] Re: neo_cgi.so: undefined symbol: Py_InitModule4

2008-05-12 Thread mog
I can also confirm this on amd64 hardy. I just finished setting up trac
an hour ago and trac was broken because of it.

Installing http://mathiasson.nu/debian/pool/main/c/clearsilver/python-
clearsilver_0.10.4-1.0pm0_amd64.deb fixed it.

I found my way here through google &
http://trac.edgewall.org/ticket/5387

[Bug 46378] Re: Bad mapping for Right-Click on PowerPC

This is still true. Should this 2 year old bug still be open?

Thanks for the tip on using Eject/F12.

[Bug 126337] Re: IDE drivers not loaded at boot with powerpc

2008-03-04 Thread mog
I have just upgraded my system to ubuntu hardy with kernel 2.6.24-11-powerpc
and i can confirm that the harddrive is detected during boot.
However /dev/hda3 was not created and i had to create it manually with "mknod
/dev/hda3 b 3 3" when dropped to initramfs shell. After exiting initramfs shell
booting proceeded as normal.

[Bug 78167] Re: azureus crashes on startup

2007-05-08 Thread mog
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 68020 ***
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/68020

A workaround is discussed in the forums:
http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=413192

It involves one of:
 * Not using the ubuntu package and downloading azureus manually.
 * Switching to GCJ.

More reports on JVM crashes like this one (mostly azureus on ubuntu but
also other issues which appear to trigger a similair JVM crash) can be
easily found by searching for 53484152454432554E54494D450E435050020F
(which is found at the top of hs_err_pid.log on google:
