[Bug 2066898] Re: HP LaserJet CP1025 prints black text as blue in LibreOffice writer
Never mind, I found the solution(s) For future reference: 1. To solve no devices found in hp-setup I needed to edit /usr/share/hplip/data/models/models.dat like described in https://answers.launchpad.net/hplip/+question/694898 and https://bugs.launchpad.net/hplip/+bug/1907444 That enabled me to find the printer using hp-setup, but print quality was still abysmal. 2. To actually fix the black is not black problem, I just had to remove the hplip/hpijs printer and use the foo2zjs driver for "HP LaserJet Pro CP1025nw Foomatic/foo2zjs-z3 (recommended) (en)" https://unix.stackexchange.com/questions/650290/print-text-using-black-ink-on-hp-laserjet-color-printer It's a bit of a shame that the first problem still exists in noble and the 2 is actually the solution. [Bug 2066898] Re: HP LaserJet CP1025 prints black text as blue in LibreOffice writer
Some more testing: Printing black text in Inkscape comes out as pitch black. Printing a pdf with black text, generated in LibreOffice Writer (different computer, same version of LO) prints as black. A pdf generated on the failing system using LO writer, prints pitch black on another computer/printer combi. [Bug 1963820] Re: Upgrade to 22.04 misses wireplumber
Ok forgive me my ignorance about pipewire, I'm trying to catch up and understand the differences with pulse. Back on 21.10, I followed this wiki on how to enable pipewire + pulseaudio support: https://wiki.debian.org/PipeWire#For_PulseAudio This explicitly mentions pipewire-mediasession and the touch of with-pulseaudio in /etc/pipewire/media-session.d/ which I did and worked flawless on 21.10. My understanding of the problem was that media-session now (22.04) requires wireplumber to work as a pulseaudio replacement *at all*. I didn't know they were alternative solutions for the same problem? In that case, the bug would be: pipewire + media-session + pulseaudio emulation doesn't work as expected on 22.04. [Bug 1768125] Re: libnewlib-arm-none-eabi generates wrong code for cortex-m0
I can compile the firmware using gcc-arm-none-eabi-7-2017-q4-major from https://developer.arm.com/open-source/gnu-toolchain/gnu-rm/downloads. [Bug 1768125] [NEW] libnewlib-arm-none-eabi generates wrong code for cortex-m0
Public bug reported: Since my upgrade to 18.04 last weekend I can't compile a working firmware for my stm32f0xx based drone flight controller. The mcu halts at HardFault_Handler and it turns out the generated code for memset is faulty. I've managed to narrow the problem down to the following code: int main(void) { int test[4] = { 0, 0, 0, 0 }; while (1); } void HardFault_Handler(void) { while(1); } In which HardFault_Handler(void) was add to prove the HardFault occuring at the array initialisation. The file is compiled using the following commandline: arm-none-eabi-gcc -mcpu=cortex-m0 -g -mthumb -fdata-sections -ffunction- sections -nostartfiles -ffreestanding --specs=nano.specs --specs=nosys.specs -Wl,-T,flash.ld,-Map,output.map,--gc-sections -std=gnu99 main.c -o memset.elf And uses STM32F0xx_StdPeriph_Driver includes and CMSIS/Device/ST/STM32F0xx based startfile. The resulting elf binary is then coverted to a binary using arm-none- eabi-objcopy -O binary memset.elf memset output.map mentions memset as: /usr/lib/gcc/arm-none-eabi/6.3.1/../../../arm-none-eabi/lib/libc_nano.a(lib_a-memset.o) So I suspect the memset nano libc version is used. arm-none-eabi-objdump -d memset.elf produces the following code for main: 080001b8 : 80001b8: b580push{r7, lr} 80001ba: b084sub sp, #16 80001bc: af00add r7, sp, #0 80001be: 003bmovsr3, r7 80001c0: 0018movsr0, r3 80001c2: 2310movsr3, #16 80001c4: 001amovsr2, r3 80001c6: 2100movsr1, #0 80001c8: f7ff ff7c bl 8c4 80001cc: e7feb.n 80001ccAnd memset starts like this: 08c4 : 8c4: e313tst r0, #3 8c8: e92d4010push{r4, lr} 8cc: 0a37beq 80001b0 8d0: e352cmp r2, #0 8d4: e2422001sub r2, r2, #1 8d8: 0a32beq 80001a8 8dc: e201c0ffand ip, r1, #255; 0xff 8e0: e1a03000mov r3, r0 ... When I step through the assembly, after arriving at 0x08c4, the debugger however shows this assembly: 0x8c4 movs r3, r0 0x8c6 b.n0x80006ea 0x8c8 ands r0, r2 0x8ca stmdb sp!, {r0, r1, r2, r4, r5} 0x8ce lsrs r0, r0, #8 0x8d0 movs r0, r0 0x8d2 b.n0x800077a ... This doesn't look like the disassembled code at all, and 0x80006ea contains no valid code: 0x80006ea ; instruction: 0x 0x80006ee ; instruction: 0x 0x80006f2 ; instruction: 0x 0x80006f6 ; instruction: 0x 0x80006fa ; instruction: 0x 0x80006fe ; instruction: 0x Thus reliably results in the HardFault_Handler() I'm in no way an experienced cortex developer/debugger. The above observations are what I managed to research last days since not being able to compile the firmware anymore. I noticed that the above dump of memset function from the .elf file looks to contain valid asm (starts with tst, push and then a beq to a valid address), but the instructions + operands are all 32bits, where as the code in main is just 16 bits for each instruction + operand. That smells fishy to my unexperienced eyes? This is as far as I understand the arm toolchain and had to give up. ** Affects: newlib (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1768125 Title: libnewlib-arm-none-eabi generates wrong code for cortex-m0 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/newlib/+bug/1768125/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1684506] [NEW] QT4 Trolltech.conf settings lost after reboot
Public bug reported: Since the update to Kubuntu 17.04 / plasma 5.9.4 all qt4 based applications (e.g. KeePassX) render using wrong font instead of my personal configured font. [Bug 1635157] Re: Bluetooth disabled after resume from standby on Yakkety (regression)
Ok, I did some investigation and looked at syslog for a succesfull and two failing BT reconnects. This is the succesful log (the others will follow). A quick scan over the lines reveals one outstanding difference between success and failure: On failure, NetworkManager reports this extra line, which is completely missing from succes log upon receiving the "new Bluetooth device message". Oct 24 11:15:51 minivanes NetworkManager[828]: [1477300551.0193] device (60:51:2C:A2:05:CC): state change: disconnected -> unmanaged (reason 'removed') [30 10 36] After enabling bluetooth in plasma bluetooth interface, the two failed syslog's final conclusions are: Oct 24 11:22:05 minivanes NetworkManager[828]: [1477300925.4564] device (60:51:2C:A2:05:CC): state change: unavailable -> disconnected (reason 'none') [20 30 0] So, in short: On failing resumes NetworkManager incorrectly concludes the BT is unmanaged, instead of just disconnected. Could you all please read up on https://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=109051 I know it's a long read, but we're chasing the same bug and duplicating a LOT of effort. BzukTuk for example found the 4.2.0 commit 8fb55197e6... on februari 1 2016. But the problems started around 3.16 and disappear somewhere in the 4.1.x line and are reintroduced in 4.2 by 8fb55197e6..., but different. It now takes longer (sometimes days) for the freezes to occur. So many think we're actually looking at two, maybe three problems at the same time, which makes bisecting extremely difficult. Reverting 8fb55197e6... in current kernels does NOT solve the problem I know for sure (I tried) unless I made a mistake because the commit does not completely match current state of i915 driver. Public bug reported: Binary package hint: findutils When I use find, to find file smaller dan 1024 bytes like this $ find -size -1024c the example result is: ./Briefcase/Test/pasfoto.jpg.meta ./Briefcase/cimg0087.jpg.meta ./Briefcase.meta However, when switching to the k multiplier I don't get any result until I use 2, instead of 1: $ find -size -1k $ find -size -2k ./Briefcase/Test/pasfoto.jpg.meta ./Briefcase/cimg0087.jpg.meta ./Briefcase.meta The same is true for M and G; It seems there's a bug in handling 1's in the -size parameter. [Bug 303011] Re: [i945] 2.5.1 driver poor performance
I'm not sure if this is the same problem as I has but I recently stumbled on a dead-slow compiz after getting DRI2/UXA to work on my jaunty install using a intel 965 and xorg-edgers ppa. I nailed to problem down to the compiz-wrapper (/usr/bin/compiz) not using -indirect-rendering when UXA/DRI2 is active and that is due to this test: if [ $($GLXINFO 2/dev/null | grep GLX_EXT_texture_from_pixmap -c) -gt 2 ] With EXA/DRI this results in 2 occurrences of GLX_EXT_texture_from pixmap and so -indirect-rendering is used (correct, or at least VERY fast). With UXA/DRI2 this test finds 3 occurrences and thus disables -indirect-rendering. Without -indirect-rendering compiz is dead-slow on my intel 965 (with UXA) so either something is wrong with the driver (and the wrapper is correct) or the wrapper test is wrong (for UXA/DRI2) and should be changed to cover DRI2/UXA and -indirect-rendering correctly. If this totally unrelated, I'm sorry... should I file a different bug concerning dead-slow compiz using DRI2? -- [i945] 2.5.1 driver poor performance https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/303011 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
