[Bug 990377] Re: lock icon in User Accounts is at best confusing

2012-05-23 Thread mwilkes512
If you have a padlock on your garage and you're looking at it in the
locked position what does that mean...your garage is currently locked.
And the opposite is true as well...if it's in the unlocked position
(visually), it'd be unlocked!

Using the reverse in Ubuntu is counter-intuitive and goes against core
principles of making Ubuntu fun and easy to use.
Just a detail but it's idiosyncratic details like this that turn people off.

This needs fixed.

[Bug 1003709] [NEW] Cannot Drag Drop Application Icon into Startup Applications Window to Activate

2012-05-23 Thread mwilkes512
Public bug reported:

When a user wants to add an application to automatically start upon boot
s/he cannot simply click drag the application icon into the Startup
Applications window.

Instead when the user clicks Add, within the Startup Application menu,
they are prompted with a Command: option which will make little sense
and likely discourage new users.

This feature to add/remove applications from automatic startup at boot
should work simply and intuitively by click drag.

[Bug 952036] [NEW] Bluetooth starts automatically on start-up. No option in Settings to disable upon start-up and Bluetooth not listed in Start-up applications.

2012-03-10 Thread mwilkes512
Public bug reported:

Bluetooth starts automatically on start-up. No option in Settings to
disable upon start-up and Bluetooth not listed in Start-up applications.
Easy to disable but kind of a pain to have to do it at every start-up.
Other than that Bluetooth works properly.
