[Bug 1576500] Re: Plasma fails to load: "all shell packages missing"
jklasdf, I think you are correct. It seems more related to the bug here: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/kubuntu-meta/+bug/1571564 which you also mention as possibly related, even if my problem didn't appear in the same way or at the same tie (straight after upgrade/when installing). Soething is wrong/missing from repos regarding the l10n- packages, obviously. I will see if the mentioned bug is the right place to continue with my issue, but this one is not the bug Iæm having. But if any one else that stumbles upon this bugreport has my problem, then a install/reinstall of plasma-dekstop fixed it for me. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1576500 Title: Plasma fails to load: "all shell packages missing" To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/plasma-desktop/+bug/1576500/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1576500] Re: Plasma fails to load: "all shell packages missing"
After reading jklasdf comment (#13) I tried to purge snapd (using apt-get purge ad i dont have aptitude installed. Rebooted. Same problem echo $XDG_DATA_DIRS yields: /usr/share//usr/share/xsessions/plasma:/usr/local/share/:/usr/share/:/var/lib/snapd/desktop So i reinstall snapd, created a symlink to have ~/.local/share/plasma to point to /usr/share/plasma (If my usage of ln -s was correct) and rebooted. Still no change, and echo $XDG_DATA_DIRS yields the same result as before. Is there any point in trying to reinstall snapd and then rebooting, to mace sure that the environment variables it erroneously provides take affect before I purge the package? Shouldn't any errors in the package be removed by purging it? I welcome any help in trying to fixing this. Btw, my problem did not come with the update, but with an update about ten days ago. Don't remember, haven't used the laptop fore a while before yesterday. And while I get the same "All shell packages missing." error I can use krunner with alt+F2, so I CAN use the computer, but it is, of course, not ideal. Also, if anyone else don't have networking, maybe due to the keychain/wallet not being opened, nmcli does the trick for me from the temrinal. Can't check the exact usage no, as I'm not with the laptop atm.
[Bug 889592] Re: Synaptic segfaults when attempting to run it on oneiric with Norwegian locale
Sorry, of course I meant they will NOT receive security updates or bugfixes. Also, does anyone know if the translation tools has an open bugreport about this? Not controlling that strings are not improperly escapes seems like a pretty big deal. Oh well, I guess we see the result of Ubuntu having to translations their very own special way instead of just making use of the existing translation work. There is and was a quite good existing community for this. But I digress. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/889592 Title: Synaptic segfaults when attempting to run it on oneiric with Norwegian locale To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/synaptic/+bug/889592/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 889592] Re: Synaptic segfaults when attempting to run it on oneiric with Norwegian locale
This happens on my mothers laptop running Ubuntu 11.10 also. NOTE: If I'm not mistaken this also *breaks automatic update checking and notfying of updates*, meaning normal people like my mom will not notice this bug and they will receive bugfixes or security updates! If this is indeed the case, I'd ask this to receive a priority of Critical, or at least High. There's just no way the relatively computer/ubntu illiterate would ever happen to run sudo apt-get update or upgrade.
[Bug 757720] Re: ubi-partman crashes with exit code 141 during live install
It seems there might be a problem with my partitions on the drive, however. cfdisk gives me an error about enlarged logical partitions overlapping - at least it gives me USEFUL feedback. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/757720 Title: ubi-partman crashes with exit code 141 during live install -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 757720] Re: ubi-partman crashes with exit code 141 during live install
I can also confirm that this is indeed a problem with the final 11-04 AMD64-image. I posted details here at first: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ubiquity/+bug/730209/comments/38 IMHO this should be a critical bug. As the alternate cd fails after the partitioning step when run from usb (probaly because it uses on of the partitions as a temp dir) and the netinstall image takes a good 90 minutes to complete an install (not to mention it is very beginner- unfriendly), the install functionality should really just work off of the live cd.

[Bug 353126] Re: Compiz / vnc screen refresh with nvidia-restricted driver/VirtualBox/ATI fglrx driver
freenx server is affected by the same bug. Seeing as nomachine nx server was reported working, I will try that. Seeing as thi bug is not present when runing freenx in arch, which has a newer Xorg, i guess this is already fixed upstream, and i hope a bugfix will come soon. -- Compiz / vnc screen refresh with nvidia-restricted driver/VirtualBox/ATI fglrx driver https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/353126 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
