[Bug 1747492] Re: [GeForce GTX 1080] 17.10.1 DisplayPort 15m cable monitor flickering
I just tried it with the latest download from the main page. And it seems to have issues displaying 3440 x 1440 @ 59Hz/60Hz. It can only display it at 49Hz. However, at the login screen, it will display, by default, at 3440 x 1440 @ 60Hz, so there is no display shown. [Bug 1747488] Re: [GeForce GTX 1080] 17.10.1 DisplayPort 15m cable no display after starting "EFI VGA"
@Daniel van Vugt Yeah, when it was a fresh install. The grub boot loader displayed, and once it started booting into Ubuntu, the last line (in 'text' mode) was saying "changing into EFI VGA"; after that there were no monitor output, as if it were connected, but just a black display; and unlike a poorly configured X.conf, it was just black. No cursor, no switch to terminal (CTRL+ALT+F1) I installed on a DisplayPort-to-Dvi monitor with a 1m cable, and then after the install finished and rebooted, I switched it back to DisplayPort connected to the LG 34" over a 15m cable. My screen was all flickering, pixelated line distortions flicker across the screen. It stopped after installing nvidia drivers -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1747488 Title: [GeForce GTX 1080] 17.10.1 DisplayPort 15m cable no display after starting "EFI VGA" To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-shell/+bug/1747488/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1384394] Re: /etc/network/interfaces: "dns-nameservers" entries for bridge "br*" interfaces are ignored i.e. they are not listed in "/etc/resolv.conf" when invoking "ifup" command
This problem is present in Ubuntu 16.04 Xenial Desktop build, as well Quick workaround: $ rm /run/resolvconf/interface/NetworkManager Deleting /run/resolvconf/interface/NetworkManager and re-running ifdown/ifup will result in the /etc/network/interfaces dns-nameservers to be populated into /etc/resolv.conf (aka ../run/resolvconf/resolv.conf) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1384394 Title: /etc/network/interfaces: "dns-nameservers" entries for bridge "br*" interfaces are ignored i.e. they are not listed in "/etc/resolv.conf" when invoking "ifup" command To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/dnsmasq/+bug/1384394/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1569462] [NEW] Isolation of container user and global user needed
Public bug reported: When creating a new container, and creating a new user within the container, if the new user has the same id and gid as a global user, the processes created within the container are owned by that global user. This causes unexpected ownership of container processes by users of the global zone, which shouldn't happen. Processes spawned from a container zone should be isolated from the global zone users.
